It is also called a broken wing, as a symbol of youth, broken children who are at this point shooting range 10/21/1941, by the fascists. Part of the complex Sumarice, and a place where every year on October 21st is event, a great school time, as a memorial to the children performed with hours of lessons and teachers who did not want to leave them and be saved, but the fascists said `` Shoot, I still hold clessons.``

This is an artistic masterpiece and a monument erected to remind us of First Grammar School pupils and all the people killed in Kragujevac by the Nazis in the WWII. Every year on October 21 people gather to pay respect to these victims of the war. It is located in a beautiful park called the Great park, which is part of the Sumarice complex. Nearby is a Museum of the WWII, where you can read notes which victims sent to their families before they were murdered. There is also a hotel where you can relax, buy a lunch, or a drink.

Сам по себе памятник как памятник, но он важен для населения города, поскольку напоминает о таком значимом событии. И узнав в память чему он установлен становиться как то грустно. Стоит посетить данный монумент в мемориальном парке Шумарица, и узнать о трагичном этапе истоии данного города, когда население города, в том числе много школьников было загнано немцами в данное место и убито.

Лаконичный и емкий образ - детский журавлик, так и не улетевший в небо. Это главный памятник мемориального парка "Крагуевацкий октябрь", ставший его символом; шедевр, без которого не обходится ни одна книга по архитектуре Югославии. Но сколько бы я не видел фотографий этого памятника, они не дают и доли того, что можно почерпнуть при непосредственном осмотре. То, что на фотографиях я по слепоте принимал за грубую фактуру камня, в реальности оказалось фигурами множества людей, замурованных в этот монумент, беззвучно взывающих оттуда о помощи. Потрясающе!
