Impressive structure, due to its sheer size and out of proportions when compared to the city of Esztergom. The building itself is restrained in decoration and art works, but the scale of it all leaves you with your jaw open. The location brings superb views over the Danube, and there is a small romatic park in the outskirts of the Basilica.I also recommed visiting the Basilica museum.

We visited this basilica as part of a "Danube bend day trip" which is offered by many travel agents. It is a nice basilica situated on a hill overlooking the Danube. It has a magnificent facade with a prominent cupola. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to visit the crypt and the cupola. But we managed to enjoy some breathtaking views from behind the basilica. It is worth visiting.

A must visit place if you are going through Hungary. Only an hour drive from Budapest and very worth the trip. Take the tours though the cathedral's main floor, treasury, tower, and crypt. It is worth the time and is very affordable.

We traveled with Sweet Travels to the Basilica and monument. I would've like to visited the museum inside by my wife didn't want to. The Basilica is quite impressive and I would encourage you to visit the crypt as well.

The basilica is huge and is third largest in the world. At least that is what the brochure said. We did not have time to visit the crypt, treasury and cupola. We did walk the grounds and it sits high overlooking the Danube. If you walk up the hill to the right of the basilica there is a huge statue that also overlooks the Danube and is worth seeing. There is free admission to the basilica.

We visited Esztergom Basilica on a day tour out of Budapest and were completely amazed by this huge building which stands on a promintory overlooking the Danube. The building has played a central role in Hungarian history and contains many relics and memorials to the nation's turbulent past. If you're interested in history this is a must-see place.

The church is beautiful and huge! Highly worth a visit. Esztergom and the basilica of Saint Adalbert have a fascinating history. The basilica stands on top of the hill. By far, the best view you can get is from the other side of the Danube from Slovakia.

Whilst on a river cruise we were taken to see the Basilica by the 'Noddy Train'. It is a very impressive building and picturesque views of the Danube and surrounding areas. We had a short visit which was ample to take in all that it had to offer. The immediate area didnt have any other attractions.
