This old... okay, ancient town is neat to wander around. The narrow cobblestone streets lead to a plethora of churches that represent various architectural styles of Byzantine, Bulgarian and Ottoman influence. The locals seemed to be rather friendly and would usually offer a smile or wave.

Old Nessebar is one of our favourite places in Bulgaria! The old town is very charming and beautiful. There are a lot of shops and street vendors, but they don't try to haggle you. You can walk around freely and look at the local goods (honey, spices, embroidery, cooking pans) without being harassed. The ruins are enchanting; very often, you can see weddings being held inside the ruins. There is also a wonderful selection of restaurants with terrific views in the old town - high recommended!

We loved our day at Nessebar! Its amazing! beautiful ruins and beautiful scenery/harbour. My pictures speak for themselves :)You might think it would be boring for children however theres lots too do. Theres parks, shops, ice cream and food stalls. I recommend pizza, its amazing!! We even enjoyed the fifteen minute flash storm we were in! *** Watch out for the beggars, they'll be sitting somewhere with a child. Its been said that they use alcohol to make the children sleep to try and get tourists to give them money and the money is used for more alcohol.Don't let this put you off, we only seen 2-3 of these.

Nessebar is an old amazing town in Bulgaria, that belongs to the UNESCO list and definitely to the MUST places in here. Even in winter it makes impression (+no turists, streets are so quite and even more special). It cannot be described, it has to be seen...

Very nice little town , well preserved and some parts of the city are very interesting ...But ... visit it out of season , otherwise you will have a lot of tourists and a lot of shops everywhere ... also during the season , a lot of people who will try to make you enter their restaurant ...

Beautifully sited on a small peninsular across the sea from the madness that is sunny beach. Old cobbled streets wend their way around the town. Usual touristy shops, but a few nice restaurants to sit and enjoy the local cuisine. Old churches and buildings are in abundance, a real journey back in time.

I love Nessebar. I was before 3 years ago againt and i love this city. It was a pleasent stay. Exact Old Nessebar is my lovely place.

Small and nice town just next to one of Bulgaria's biggest beach resorts. Since we visited in September it was not too crowded and it was nice to walk around, seing the nice buildings and streets.

On a recent stop in Burgas we used the tour operator Tischner to do a half day tour of Nessebar & surrounding area. First the UNESCO World heritage City of Nessebar. It is located on the cost of the Black Sea, it is very well persevered & has people living in the old city. It has many shops & restaurants, old churches. The Bay on which it is build is now a major summer destination for tourists due to the fine hotels, beaches & other attractions. Our guide then took us well off the beaten path to a small village to a private home where we had a light snack, this was an interesting experience to see how the locals live. After that we went even further into the back country to what was an old communist collective to see what life was like. We stopped at a private residence & the lady explained how life was back then. All in all a very interesting and rewarding day. Would highly recommend this tour operator. They were on time the vehicle was clean & the guide spoke very good English & was very knowledgeable.
