You'll probably have to cross Bolshaya Sadovaya at some point during your trip. Make it worth your time by going down into the many underpasses along this busy street.

I think, it's unique art for Russia and looks pretty good, especially one mosaic where children in class did a sum. These unique color mosaic tiles had turned the most boring underpass areas into stunning and dazzling works of art. These series are both dramatic and humorous. It could be made as the most visited attraction of the city. Too bad that the city government does not see the value of this treasure below ground level… Well, while the mosaics are still in decent condition take some time and walk down to enjoy them.

Even if you are in hurry take a minute to enjoy these magnificient mosaics. Here you can see the idillic pics of bright and happy life in Soviet Union, you can see different workers, scenes from school, hospital, even battles from The 2nd World War! This is a great alternative to a boring museum pieces, just let your imagination create amazing story!

While I wouldn't travel to Rostov just to see it; if you're already going, it's worth taking a look as it is the only city in all of Russia with this particular type of mosaic art. It depicts typical soviet scenes of education and lifestyle and also scenes from World War II. You can find this art in a number of underpasses along the main street: Bolshaya Sadovaya Ulitsa.

Действительно красиво. В повседневности, рутине, окруженная невнятными ларьками, эта красота прячется, но вечерами, когда ларьки закрыты и бегущие по переходам толпы, уже добежали до цели, переходы открываю свою мозаичную красоту. Пойдите вечером на прогулку по подземным переходам, не пожалеете.

Интересный объект для осмотра. В каждом переходе находятся разные мозаики, поэтому советую гостям города почаще спускаться туда, не пропускать ростовскую достопримечательность. Не видела подобного ни в одном городе.

Понравилась картина в переходе на Большой Садовой. Яркая, оптимистичная, задорная. Это зрелище было очень неожиданным и тем более приятным.

жаль, что многие фрагменты заставлены торговыми палатками, но это реально увидеть надо ОБЯЗАТЕЛЬНО! очень интересные сюжеты, выполненные с большой любовью

Очень кропотливая и талантливая работа. Разнообразные тематики. Жаль, что мало кто сейчас на это обращает внимание.
