The castle was built in 1626-1631. Designed by Italian architect Vincenzo Scamozzi, construction work led by military engineer Andrea del Aqua, probably by G. van Peena and expensed by brothers Jerzy (George) and Krzysztof (Christopher) Zbarazkiy. Project of castle first has been described in V.Skamotstsy treatise "On the idea of a universal architecture" (another translation - "The idea of the overall architecture", Venice, 1615), was later embodied in Zbarazh. 1675 Castle captured and burned by the Turks.In the 19th century in castle working sugar mill, under the command of General Bem
