I was staying in Yalta for 24 days. And most of the time was going to this place to meet my friend & had dinner. Every evening many people selling flower, show some attraction such as acrobatic, playing traditional music, break dance, magician and many more. You also can find many food court with very affordable price. It was really entertaining place but if you go there every day you will feel very bored. Since the entertainment always the same.

We were on a cruise ship and had an extra hour to wander around Yalta. Decided to stroll along this lovely main street that runs along the waterfront and were not disappointed. It provided nice views along streets that ran from it, there were stores, little shops, and many local people just out for a walk. I found the costumed young girls selling sweets as they glided along the avenue an interesting addition to the place. Make sure that you take a stroll here if you visit the city - well worth it.

This Is an excerpt form our three week travel blog.Short version of review, This is a great place to see local families enjoying a Sunday afternoon out.The bus dropped us off back at the ship and we noticed that the dock was very close to the previously mentioned Lenin Embankment, and so we decided to take a little walk before re-boarding the ship. On the way to the embankment we passed some of the older buildings in Yalta. The area then opened up into a wide plaza that anchored one end of the embankment. There was a carnival / fairground feel to the whole place; with kids rides, music playing, food vendors and lots of locals out for a Sunday afternoon walk. One of the few signs left over from the old Soviet era is the large statue of Lenin that is set back just a little from the embankment. Perhaps the biggest signal that the old regime is long gone was a group of teenagers using the base of the Lenin statue as a mini skateboard park, and not being sent to Siberia for exhibiting such anti-social behavior.Even though we were able to use Euros at the trinket shops by the palaces, we found that the businesses along the embankment would only take the local Ukrainian currency - of which we had precisely zero, so no coffee and cake for us! In addition most of the locals spoke very little, if any, English - but it's amazing how much you can convey by pointing and gesturing. Strolling on for about half a mile we observed many families having lots of fun - this does seem to be a very popular spot with the locals on a Sunday. Eventually we reversed coarse and headed back to the ship.

The location has a feeling of the South of France, lovely villas and hotels set in woodland and backed by the mountains. It's interesting to see statues of Lenin in the Ukraine, in other parts of the former USSR they have been removed. The promenade is elegant, lots of cafés and expensive shops. It's easy to walk to the Chekov theatre. Remember, you need local currency to use the toilets, the entrance ladies will not accept Euros.

Everyone walks up and down the promenade at all times of day. Lots of activity, boat trips, restaurants, rides for children, shops, buskers etc. Very pleasant activity as things change every day - cruise boats dock and leave and the Yalta rally was taking place when we were there.

If you in Crimea, you have to visit Yalta. It surrounded by mountains, which makes climate of the city much wormer than other places. There are a lot to see in Yalta and around. Many tourists groups are ready to take you around starting from 1 hours till several days tours. We had only a day in Yalta, so we took a tour to "Swallow's nest castle" <Lastochkino Gnezdo>. We just got a boat from the corniche (Lenin Embankment) it was about 1 hour one way. We found a nice guy who spoke some English. The place looks beautiful from the sea, its on the cliff and I bet looks amazing during sunset. We had about another hour to walk around and went back to Yalta same boat. We continue to walk around <Lenin Embankment>, there are many things to look at. Staged photos in old age ( 16-17th century) clothes, Bikers costumes on all kind of bikes, funny pics in photo frame where you put only your face, and the rest is drawn on the board. You can get your portrait drawn in 30 min ( for about 25 dollars), or a caricature. There are a lot of food options, from very expensive in the hotels to street food. Sushi, sea food, shashlik (grilled meat), pizza, ice cream and pastry. We went to open air cafe. Starters, main bottle of local wine and a coffee for 3 people cost us about 60 dollars.I think you definitely have to visit Yalta if you are in that area.

BUT WHAT FUN!!! Hoards of Ukrainian people visiting colourful seaside attractions, squashed on to a tiny beach, all under the shadow of Lenin! The juxta-position of the old and the new fascinated us!!Next to Lenin's Statue are the Golden Arches of McDonalds!Kitch, photo studios for weird family portraits (in 16th Century Costume??!), Candy Floss, Go-Kart rides for children on the promenade (accident waiting to happen??!!) BUZZING! But we liked it as only here for the day from a cruise ship.
