Visiting the museum of the ruin castle Koldinghus is an interesting experience. I especially liked the exhibition about the castles history and the restoration, which is quite special as it had been chosen not to rebuild the ruin, but rather incorporate the ruin walls in a new interpretation of the castle. We saw all the rooms, towers and the dungeon and I think we spent about 3 hours. The castle is not suited for anyone who are walking impaired.

There is 2 things to notice. First of all the nice restaurations of the once burned building. The creative design in the restauration is worth taking a look at as it self.Next, the shifting exchibitions that goes through the rooms, is always great and nicely arranged.

I visited the castle last year. It is a stunning place. There are so many things to see that's unbelievable, you can experience past's and present's architecture designs at once. It took us about 3 hours to go around and see every corner of it, but was worth it. The view from the top (the stairs up there seem to never end actually :))) is magnificent, you can see whole city and the harbor too. Entrance fee is quite fair. The only thing that let me down were the toilet facilities, one loo in the whole castle for visitors, and very dirty...

Wandering around Koldinghus was such a pleasure. There are so many nooks and crannies to explore. It's a great place for photography or drawing enthusiasts. Some of my favorite pictures and sketches come from this magical place.

Koldinghus was a delight to wander around. Plenty of the information was available in English. The castle itself is fascinating and I especially enjoyed seeing the main chapel and white room.

The castle was very good about showing English subtitles on their videos and there was plentyin the beginning, however, later, the English got less.

The Castle is located in a beautiful area of Kolding, yet we were very disappointed with the state of the building. The main door is in need of restoration as are the walls and internal courtyard. We could not visit the castle interior as it was closed during the time we visited.

Great place and very good English guide. Truly unique restauration style. Don't forget to go to the top of the tower, which offers perfect view of the whole city!

The view from atop of Kolding is very nice. The floors are adorned with an array of displays that are not overwhelming. All you need is 90 minutes max to have a nice buffet lunch or dinner in the brick enclave and to tour the castle. Play some kind of bowling in the courtyard with wooden balls and pins, reminded me of candlepin bowling in New England. Check out the Nazi jail/detention area outside the castle. I think the cost was 64 crowns for entry. The buffet was around 200 crowns per person.
