I've been visiting this unique spot at least once each year all of my life. It's constantly changing in the hands of nature. And it's a magnificent viewpoint to one of the most exciting coastlines in Denmark. The sea is "eating" big bites of the coast these years, så visit the lighthouse while it's still standing.

On windy days you need windproof clothes and boots. The sand is so fine that it gets through normal weather jackets easily. I wore an alpine cap, exercising gloves and industry security glasses too. Even in summer. When wind gusts blow there, the sand penetrates heavily each inch of your exposed skin. I managed to take pictures with my camera, but had to stop this to prevent my camera from any damages caused by sand corns. The lighthouse though not functionable for years is a must see for everyone who drives out to this beautiful place.

Tale the opportunity to visit this impressive place. If time allows visit the Church nearby which was built hundred of years ago far away from the coastline and nok very close to be swallowed by the sea.

the very unique phenomenon of the moving sand, The light tower buried half in the sand creating sad and moody feeling with the strong wind or let say sand storm in the dawn its really amazing view. Be prepare for this attraction, in windy situation you really need sun glass or googles and wind blocker jackets :) some locals say that the tower will be buried completely in the sand in next 5 to 8 years since the dune areas became wider. the nice thing of this place is the path to go here is full of sandorn berry and some wild berry, the route quiet nice for hiking , jogging or even biking.

Nice sight nearby the waterfront. A lighthouse that slowly gets covered in sand, not much left of it. Easy accessible both by car or bikes. Also nice for children

Impressive place altogether. If it's windy when you travel there, keep in mind that you'll be high up next to the sea if you climb to the firehouse, so it'll be much more windy (much, much more, we were almost blown away) and it'll be much colder. Dress warm.

This place is wonderful. The scenery is absolutely ominous, and the feeling of the overpowering nature here is physical. Be prepared, though: wear glasses (better if completely sealed), long sleeves and pants for the sand blown by the wind quickly gets everywhere. I presume you will be going there to take amazing pictures: seal your camera. If you SRL is weather sealed, put on a lens weatherproofed before leaving the parking site. Otherwise, just seal it: use a 3m+ waterproof case or a weather protection for lens and camera. Once you are back, carefully clean everything. The sand is very think and quickly gets inside every hole and aperture of...everything! Be prepared to avoid loosing hundreds or maybe thousands of $ on ruined equipment!

Unfortunately we had some mishaps so we couldn't complete the walk which is a fair distance on a dirt track that starts off wide than narrows into a tiny track as you get near the dunes. But from afar it makes for an awesome sight and a great photo op. So even if you can't walk all the way to the dunes it's still worth a stop.

You have to walk quite a bit to get up to the lighthouse. The way up is already quite amazing, sea buckthorn growing all the way eye can see! We happened to take a narrower path, which was paved by the thorny bushes, and our legs would have been totally scratched if we hadn't had long pants. If you happen to go at a time when there are berries, be sure to take some to get loads of C-vitamin! :)
