Prison recently converted to a museum and cultural scene. Interesting museum, and great place. Very good guides. Also a great place for business meetings. Serves great food.

The prison museum is absolutely worth visiting, when you are in East-Jutland. The museum is for all age categories and it is very wheelchair friendly. The 150 year old building has remained authentic and in very good state. You will experience what it is like being behind bars. The stories of Faengslet inmates will fascinate you. I can say it is the one of the most intriguing places that I've ever visited. Definitely a must-see!

Fantastic atmosphere at the Middle Age Festival, hold at the former prison of Horsens for two days every year. If you are there the last Friday and Saturday of August, is quite an experience to go there. Out of this festival, the place itself has a lot is interest.

If a citizen of Horsens meets a visitor, the question "have you been to the prison" is likely to come up quickly. I found this a bit amusing, and maybe even a bit pathetic, but visiting the prison changed my mind. The people who designed this museum really managed to create a very credible and compelling experience. I walked out shaken and thoughtful. The museum is huge. Come prepared to climb up and down lots of stairs, although I did notice an elevator, which might be available for the handicapped.

Me and my wife went to see Aerosmith outside the walls.The setup was good and informative. Plenty of places to get something to eat and drink and it was fairly easy to get away afterwards in car.

The Faengslet now doubles as a museum and concert centre. The massive structure is a comfortable walk from the centre of town. A glimpse of history, although a bit depressing - but then even Alcatraz was hardly a happy tour.

This is the former Horsens State Prison which was in use between 1853 to 2006.You can walk through the museum by yourself or book a guided tour, which would be recommended as they give you lots of additional information and tell interesting stories about the inmates and prison regime.Worth a visit.

Den tiende middelalderfestival på fængselet er en stor oplevelse som Man må se.den kommer igen til august 2015.

Storytelling om flugtkonger gik hånd i hånd med facts, om hvordan det har været at være indsat i Horsens Statsfængsel. Vi havde en fantastisk professionel engageret guide, der gjorde turen rundt i fængslet utrolig interessant. Det kan kun anbefales at få en guidet tur.

Fantastisk sted som udflugtsmål, både for store og små. En flot og hyggelig tur , især Middelalderfestival i August.
