Catena Zapata is a small producer, in Argentinian terms, of very good wines, producing just 700,000 litres per year. The winery favours oak a bit more than other Argentinian wineries I have visited, particularly American oak, which imparts stronger flavours into the wine than does French oak. The facilities are inspired by Mayan architecture.
