This is the winery experience you're dreaming about. That beautiful setting, sleek breezy bright modern buildings, and most importantly really spectacular product. I've forgotten his name but there is a sommelier here who is so, so knowledgeable. Pay for the extra (higher level) tasting for two reasons: one, to try the Henry, and two, to sit and pick his brain longer about wines in Mendoza and outside the country as well. Worth it.

I was lucky to attend an event at Bodega Lagarde in November and was blown away by both the setting and the facility. I had been to Mendoza on wine tours years earlier and was struck by how impersonal several of the winery tours had felt -- this was not the case at Lagarde. It was a large operation whose experience still felt intimate. I have already recommended it to friends planning to travel to Mendoza and look forward to the next time I am there. I hope you enjoy your trip as much as I did!

We had a wine tasting while enjoying a great 4 course picnic under the trees! 3 types of fresh, warm empanadas, green salad, meat sandwich & banana and Crema Di leche desert! Everything was more than tasty, served in a wine wooden box!!! We accompanied the whole with a rose chilled bottle of wine! Very romantic!!!!

Had a great tour, even though I arrived late, so was in espanol. Mingled with others who helped translate. Then went to tasting with a group of 2 sisters and 2 brothers from Cordova. We had fun trying 5 wines and laughing. Lovely time.

Ignacio Sanchez, the owner of the B&B where we stayed in Lujan de Cuyo, booked our appointment at Lagarde (as he did with all 10 of the wineries/lunch spots we visited in Mendoza). Lagarde was one of our favorite tours. The guide gave us an expert tour of the facilities and an informative explanation of Lagarde's approach to winemaking. Lagarde is one of the traditional wineries in Lujan de Cuyo and so they have cement tanks and very old vines at their disposal to make very interesting and tasteful wines.I particularly liked the experimentation that is going on at Lagarde. The winemaker prepares a small production of wine that is fermented and aged in an oak barrel. The mark is "Henry" and you can purchase a tasting since it is not included in the wine tasting, for which we were given 5 large tastings, including a 2014 Altas Cumbres Torrontes (the grapes are from Salta so it has the the typical citrus and butter notes I have come to love), 2013 Lagarde Malbec (excellent), 2011 Lagarde Guarda Malbec (even better, we bought two bottles), 2011 Espumantes (quite good), and 2014 Lagarde Dolce Sparkling (pretty darn good for a sweet sparkling wine!). The tasting fee was waived since we purchased a couple bottles.
