This was one of my favourite experiences in 2 months of travelling through southern Argentina. The site is breathtakingly beautiful and pristine. The larval rock formations created by the effect of wind and water are stunning. Inside the chimney is a dark and tranquil place. Amazing! Our tour was even more enjoyable because our guide, Valentino, was also a gem. We spent 3 hours walking though the formations and in the chimney. Please note you have to buy your entry ticket in the town of Malargue (near the tourist information office). A further small fee is payable to the guide on site. If you are in the area- don't miss this attraction. If you are not - it is worth a big detour!

I want to thank Diamante Viajes for making it all happen for me to See the Beautiful Volcan Malacara!This happens to be the First Volcano I have ever physically seen in my life in the Province Of Mendoza.It is one of a kind and I am very thankful that Maria Jesus, our guide, along with Edgardo Toro our driver were the ones who got us there safely so that we could enjoy our tour which was given to us by our second guide, Matias Damian Mayorga who explained the Volcan Malacara to us in detail and made sure that we walked through it safely and all around it.During our tour, we saw a lot of volcanic ashes from the past, along with amazing rock formations that were created from the past volcanic eruptions.I took a lot of pictures which are on my personal photo blog and I hope that you will eventually get to join Diamante Viajes on your next trip out to the Volcan Malacara.Thank you.

If Malargue is not enough for a visitor, the food, the accommodations and the welcome of the people, there is something that is going to get you out of this world, and that is Volcan Mala Cara, where you walk (literally walk) inside the volcano. The guide gives the group a very good description of how the volcanoes are "born" and then, how they "die". The sort of labyrinth in volcanic rocks tells you the rest. Need extra water, comfortable shoes and light jacket. Sun block recommended, and don't let the camera at the hotel, you are going to blame yourselves.

Experiencia unica de estar dentro de dos crateres laterales y secundarios de un volcan. El guia decia que esto solo se puede hacer en Malargue, en un volcan de Canada y otro de Nueva Zelanda. Lamentablemente al crater principal no se puede entrar ya que la entrada está bloqueada naturalmente. Lo malo, el camino, habremos hecho cerca de 2 mil km de ripio en todo el viaje, y en ningun lado estaba tan mal como esos 15 km hasta el volcan.

El guía Valentín un genio nos guió dentro del volcán relatandonos su historia. Muy divertido y muy impresionante caminar por los ríos de lava y por el interior del volcán!!! No se puede no ir si van a malargue

Simplemente me encanto, un lugar hermoso, con historia. El guía que nos llevo excelente. Si van a Mendoza, no dejen de visitar el volcán Malacara porque es una atracción que estaría bueno visitar. Lo recomiendo

El Volcán tiene una altura de poco mas de 1800 m.s.n.m. Su erupción fue de características hidromagmáticas, es decir cuando la lava asciende y entra en contacto con agua acumulada bajo la corteza terrestre, generando erupciones de extremada violencia. La coloración que se aprecia además del negro son los amarillentos, rojizos y verdes que se generan por este tipo de erupciones en contacto con el agua, aunque el negro es el predominante. En la actualidad el volcán ha sido erosionado por la lluvia y el viento, lo que deja al descubierto grandes cárcavas de casi 30 m de altura por las que ingresan las excursiones

Es un volcán hidromagmatico de 3 chimeneas. Una principal y dos secundarias ( las que se accede al tapón). Estas por haber explotado hacia el costado son de fácil acceso.Hay que caminar. El recorrido es de 3km guiado. Hermoso lugar. Descubierto si mal no recuerdo en el 60 por avistamiento aéreo.
