You shouldn't do without this easy walk around the vilalge of Purmamarca following the color hills. It is not too obvious to find, so just ask anybody. The advantage is that you'll most probably be (almost) alone.

At most an hour hike around the hills behind Purmamarca. Worth trying in the morning to get the morning sunlight. We ran into several cars trying to make the loop drive, which seems a bit foolhardy, because parts of the road side have collapsed due to the heavy rains in this region. Walk it and see it with your own eyes!

This is a very short hike near Purmamarca, with no difficulty at all, ony a little more than 1 mile, highly recommended/

We got on the trail at the south end of town. It is not marked, just walk one block south of the cemetery and it becomes the trail. It was easy to follow and we felt very alone. I liked that - we felt very adventurous. After we passed the half way point we began to see all the people who started from the other point. Comfortable hike you can do without being acclimated to the elevation.

When you visit Purmamarca, then do yourself the favor and go for a hike in "Los Colorados"... It is a multi-colored area, with beautiful views and impressive mountains... A couple of hours here are well spent... Enjoy...:-)

I went for a run on this path behind the Cerro de Los Siete Colores by myself and it was the most peaceful event of the vacation! Not a lot to do, and not the most scenic viewpoints (although there are some great vantage points), but stop and take a look around and you feel quite insignificant; humbling.

This walk begins just a few blocks from the center of Purmamarca. The path, which is quite easy to follow, takes you on a two-mile walk around the Cerro de Siete Colores and its environs. It's best to make the hike early in the day when the temperature is still pleasant and the sun is not yet overhead. Be aware that cars can also follow the trail for most of its distance, but there were only a few of them when we were there.

A must do while in Purmamarca. I recommend walking it and not driving through to fully appreciate the landscape. The colors are incredible.

the path starts just behind the graveyard, do take a discrete peak as it is quite special. the area is quite stunning and in a short half hour walk, a bit longer with all the stops, you have diversity of rock colours and formations from reds to greens to pink and the rock formations.. use your imagination! I saw a Bottero done by Nature! enjoy this very easy walk, no danger on your own. I also saw that a car can access quite far into the area for people who cannot walk.

What can I say! The scenery is beautiful and the Cerros have incredible shapes that change colors at dawn and when thd sun sets. I only have a couple of comments: first and foremost, a similar view but much more spectacular is to be found in Ayers Rock in Australia and Brice Canion in the US. Secondly, if you travel here from the Valles Calchaquieres or the Quebrada de Cafayate or Quebrada del Toro, this place will not impress you much. Make sure you have it as your first destination if you are travelling thru these areas and yoj will be able to enjoy it more. And remember, the best is yet to come!
