Most beautiful and incredible part of my trip. Went up with a family friend here in Capilla. Under no circumstances should you at any point book from the place in town - they're generally rude and obnoxious and you will not have a nice time. It's $150 pesos to get in, it'll take you about 2.5-3 hours to get up and 2-3 to get down, depending on breaks and what not. When you get to the summit, walk around a bit - it's a bit crowded at the main point but you can find lots of cool areas that have nobody if you're willing to trek a little off the beaten path. Fantastic!

Even if it's not going to be in the top 100 walks but its a nice side trip especially if it is running. The annual marathon is always a wonderful experience when you have trained enough. The 2015 marathon will be the number 30 so I will be there and invite all riders in the world to join us. They are about two hours to get into a small path up to 2000 meters above sea level. You can do it. If your lucky you might see some condors. A very well maintained trail, for the most part well signed, and the ever-changing vistas make every step worthwhile. A little crowded at the summit, but the view is spectacular. The trail passes through a stunning grassland meadow for about 15 minutes, and lots of birds.

Everything advertises 4 hours up, 3 hours down. We are in our 60s and we did 3 up and 2.5 down. It's difficult to describe. A very well maintained trail, for the most part well signed, and the ever-changing vistas make every step worthwhile. A little crowded at the summit, but the view is spectacular. The trail passes through a stunning grassland meadow for about 15 minutes, and lots of birds.

Okay so it's not going to be in the top 100 walks but its a nice side trip. If your lucky you might see some condors. We enjoyed the aliens at the bottom and also some traditional breads being cooked in a clay stove by a local lady on our way back to town.

Lleven agua y alguna fruta o caramelos. Y por supuesto la cámara de fotos!!
