Wonderful tour (but you have to speak Spanish to understand it) and the views from the roof are really dramatic.

We took the guided tour. The first part focused on the painting and was a bit boring. Yet the visit of the catacombs but mostly the view from the roof of the church makes it a must see in Potosi.

We were recommended to tour this church ahead of the cathedral and it proved a great choice. You take a guided tour and photos are again an extra fee.Whilst the interior of the church with its high ceilings and catacombs replete with skulls are worth seeing, the view from the roof is superb. Panoramic views over the city to the mountain and beyond are the reward for a climb up the tower and across walkways over the tiled roof. You are eventually moved on by your guide but we got 10 minutes of heaven up there. Vertigo sufferers may struggle a little but it's not a place with a long vertical drop.

We turned up at 11, paid our 150bs each and were taken immediately around by a guide, just the two of us. The tour was in Spanish, neither of us speak it at all well and understand less. The tour guide was really patient and tried to explain in English as much as possible. The inside is completely unexpected - vast with loads to look at the, the central courtyard is lovely. The crypt was interesting (mostly empty now remains were taken to the cemetery, if I have understood correctly) but the roof was spectacular; great views of the roofs of Potosi and Cerra mountain. Our nicest experience in Potosi, would recommend to anyone.

Had a lovely tour of the church-which was once the oldest in Bolivia but was destroyed by a flood and rebuilt in the 1700's. The attached convent is the oldest in Bolivia however.Views from the roof were fantastic and the guide was wonderful. There are tours at 9.00 and 11.00 and then a couple in the afternoon. We did a mini tour of the roof, church, patio and catacombs which took around an hour.I have a bit of vertigo but was ok on the roof-lots of handrails, just remember to go slowly if you're not acclimatized to the altitude-climbing 30 storeys at 4000m can be a bit of a challenge!Would really recommend & only 15Bs per person (£1.30 each).

The museum itself was closed, but we were able to visit the roof (we had to pay the whole ticket) and this is a must do in Potosí. A guide goes with you and it is just spectacular. Good views. Recommended. Opening hours are written next to the entrance, but do not correspond with the real times of opening. If it is closed, try it again at a later time untill you are lucky.

The guide told us it was half closed but she could take us to the roof. It was our best visit in such a place in Bolivia. The guide (that I missed her name) made all the difference, adding her Potosiana information when was possible and this make all the difference understanding the place and its context overall. We enjoyed to talk not only about Convento, but Potosi and Bolivia as well. The views up there were stunning and well worth the visit.

Visit helps to understand the life of priest in the colonial period. You can take pictures almost everywhere on the site, which is quite different from most attractions. From the roof of the Temple you can take great pictures !

Be sure to look at the faces of the angels carved around the front doors.Local artisans put in the Bolivian faces.

The view from the roof of San Francisco is breathtaking, however there is not much else to see. The tour of the church/ convent was limited to going into the catacombs and the convent patio.
