Nice church but not that old considering the age of the town. It was very hard to get in because the man that had the keys just didn't show up and we had to look for him everywhere.

Having discovered that several of Potosí's churches were closed to the public one particular day, we were more prepared to pay the 20 BOB fee to access the cathedral and see some colonial-era religious architecture. What we didn't bargain on was a fun and educational Spanish lesson from the friendly guide, Alfredo (not exactly sure of his name). Our very limited language skills were put to the test with Alfredo asking us questions about the origins of various aspects of the unique cathedral in Spanish - and celebrating accordingly when we managed to somehow spit out the correct answers. The small tour also included access to the top of one of the bell towers for some nice views of Potosí and the surrounding mountains. We're pretty sure Alfredo has some mean English skills, but it was much more enjoyable that he didn't use them!

I came here, wanting to kill some time, expecting to have a wonder and see the views from the belltower. I did all that but had an amazing time with the guide who took us on a tour of the cathedral. The cathedral has just undergone restoration.It costs 15 BOB to enter (£1.30). The guide inside greeted us and told us about the history of the cathedral, testing our knowledge with questions and guving us high-fives when we got them right. He spoke to us in very slow spanish (as the three of english could more or less understand) with animated hand gestures and tone. He reverted to english if we didn't understand meaning we got a spanish lesson in the process!The views from the belltower are amazing too!

Not only is this church a central monument in the old part of town, it is very well lit and gives the square an amazing glow at night, well worth taking a look… We were lucky to have a view of the towers from our hotel room! Hope this review was helpful!!!

Some fine work is under way, with full completion and reopening of this closed building expected in 2013. A Japanese project is handling the project, but at times they let people in.

Hermosa e imponente. Por las noches la iluminación la hace ver mas hermosa. Lo malo es la iluminación les de la plaza que afecta la toma de la fotografía.

Estuvimos en Potosí un domingo y un lunes. Por desgracia, ninguno de los dos días encontramos abierta la catedral, así que recomiendo planificar la visita con anticipación (averiguar los horarios). Recomiendo ir a la plaza (desde donde se ve la catedral) de dpia y de noche, para apreciar el detalle d ela catedral durante el día y verla imponentemente iluminada durante la noche.

Esta catedral ubicada en el centro de la ciudad muestra la importancia que tenia esta ciudad en la época colonial y esta es un poco de lo que queda de la historia religiosa en Potosí

Frente a la plaza principal de Potosi, se encuentra su Catedral.- Estuvimos en enero de este año y actualmente la estan restaurando la Basilica, que recuperara sus colores originales.- Por ello, se veían vacios, muchos de los espacios destinados a las esculturas de los Santos.- Entramos con visita guiada, ya que se encontraba cerrada debido a las obras, ademas hoy día, es muy dificil encontrar una Iglesia abierta, fuera del horario de misa. El guía resulto muy entretenido y simpatico, con sus anécdotas.- La vista de la Ciudad desde el campanario, vale el esfuerzo de subir.- Si bien, no es una gran altura, el ascenso es agotador, ya que Potosi esta aproximadamente a 4100 msm.-

Igreja muito bonita e localizada em uma das praças mais movimentadas da cidade. A noite o complexo fica muito iluminado, sendo um destaque no centro.
