i have read a lot of stories about this road and i confess that i have been quite worried when we drove it but at the end it's not so scary as we thought!

Words can't describe this mountain bike trek! What a unique and amazing day! We started the day with torrential rain and poor visibility but by the end we were lying by a pool in the sunshine! I signed up for the Death Road experience with Altitude( great company and great value!). I don't have much mountain bike experience but I figured I can ride a bike so challenge accepted! The first half hour was horrific with the rain in our faces and being saturated even through our protective clothing! We were all wondering what we had signed up for but after breakfast things improved-the Sun appeared and so did the views! We soon dried out and enjoyed the downhill ride along with the beauty of the landscape. And yes, it is dangerous but if you're not stupid about things

We hired a private vehicle from La PAz to travel through Death Road and then to Coroico. Not many vehicles travel through Death Road now as a new road was built to by-pass this road. Lot of improvements have been done to the road lately to reduce the safety risks. It is nice to travel through this road and have several stops to take photos of beautiful sceneries. I believe downhill bikers will enjoy this road much more than just travelling in a vehicle. Highlight of the Death Road travel is the free car wash that you get from a waterfall which falls on to the road.

Well, I have no words to describe what is the Death Road! I really loved Bolivia, I loved La Paz and its attractions... And of course, The Death Road is one of them, if not the best one!Adventure, adrenaline, landscape, crazy weather, snow, rain, sun, nice people and a good luch at the end, that resume my journey till Coroico. The Death Road is worth every penny! You must go really carefully, but it's an amazing experience! Stay close to the nature and see how crazy and amazing life can be! If you go to La Paz, PLEASE, do the Death Road!!

We met Pablo from vertigo when we were shopping around different bike shops that did the same tour. However after visiting a few we went back to vertigo because they made us feel the most comfortable. Pablo explained everything to us. Marcelo and Miguel were our guides and driver and they were both also fantastic. Marcelo is very experienced and helped us take loads of photos. Weather was a bit bad when we went but that's all. There were loads of other companies that seemed really unprofessional and let their bikers go off on their own and all over the road with dodgy bikes.

Loved every minute of it. The views are spectacular!!!No worries if you don't mountian bike. It is not a technical ride!We went with Gravity Assist! Our guide Andy was great! Along with Willy too!A lot of the company's sound the same...some cost more...but you get what you pay for. We went with gravity because of the location of the lunch after the ride along with hot showers.

We chose Extreme Downhill for our death road experience due to their good reputation and many positive reviews.Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The day started with terrible weather conditions, it was snowing heavily on the top of the mountain so it was actually more dangerous to go on the bike ride and we couldn't see a meter ahead of us.The guides couldn't care less, all they were interested about was the fact that we will not get our money back. After long deliberation with the people on the bus we decided to wait the bad weather pass and go on the ride regardless of the bad weather. It indeed clear up, but the guide's attitude ruined the first part of the day.In addition to that, many people on the group had trouble with their bikes and the pictures taken by the guides are bad quality.Nevertheless, the views are amazing! it is a must do activity, just not with Extreme Downhill.

Wow. Brilliant. Exhilarating. Went with the company Altitude- all bikes functional, brakes working, no problems. Was foggy, snowing, and rainy at the top and for a very long way down. Prepare to freeze if this is the case :)Lower down it warmed up and cleared up- definitely worth the risk. Some of the most amazing views! The company was great, warmed us up part way down with tea and snacks, and then had a great lunch at a poolside restaurant. Professional guides, awesome personalities, all around great experience. I went into La Paz convinced this was not going to be something I would ever consider doing, but I did it and would do it again a million times. Just be careful! ;)

Used Barro biking60+km of downhill adrenaline. Start at 4,700 metres finish around 1,500 metres gravity does nearly all the work.Too busy trying to stay upright (not a happy cyclist) to worry about vertical drops. At the top cannot see jack for cloud cover which is cold and rain. All too short but magic feeling having a bite and cold drink in the heat at the end.
