This beautiful area and street shows La Paz as it was 100 years ago. It is very authentic with several meusems and old houses. Very nice to visit for a couple of hours

This street is probably one of the best looking streets in La Paz, we went at midday and were the only ones there. There are museums to visit, and I imagine the street comes alive to those with a guide and more information. Worth a look if you are staying nearby. There are some cafes, restaurants on the street, however when we went (Wed lunch) everything was closed.

Our group did enjoy this this shot and narrow street that provided historical 19th century feel. Street takes you to excellent ethnic museum and nearby plaza.

This is a must visit in La Paz. The Jaen Street is full of museums worth visiting and is a great activity for a nice day in La Paz. I wouldn't go with small children since there aren't many things for them to do (only the Musical Instruments Museum would be suitable for kids)

The Calle Jaen is a small cobbled street a short walk (15 minutes approx) away from Plaza Murrillo. Worth it....very well restored buildings which have tasteful little shops at the bottom opening up onto the windy cobble stoned lane. At the top of the lane there are a number of museums. These are entered from the main one ... Museos Municipales, where you can buy a ticket for 3 different ones...but they are all within the same complex. This cost 10 bolivianos. The Museos metales preciosos was closed when we were there. The museums are small and It will take about an hour to go through all of them.

Not sure I would make a huge effort to visit. Perhaps we timed it wrong as it was very quiet (Monday lunchtime) with a lot of the shops/museums being closed. Yes, it is quiet and cobbled and quaint but I was expecting a lot more.

It's a very special little street, very different from other areas of the city... I recommend that you go during the afternoon and ask around for the stories of the street.

Nice example of what La Paz use to look like in terms of architecture and cobble streets. The street has some great little art galleries - at reasonable prices.Great spot for a cup of tea or coffee!
