Probably the best cultural evening of traditional dancing we've ever seen anywhere. Vibrant, energetic and genuine. The dancers really seemed to love what they were doing. Polynesian members in the audience far outnumbered the Western tourists which must be a good sign.

mindblowing show of true cultural heritage, amazing costumes, dances & dancers full of energy with an outstanding choreography, never seen something like this. Outstanding dishes prepared in an earth oven by master Roberto Pacomio who also explained us the symbolism of his body paintings and decorations. And experience even more worth seeing than the MOAI!!

Vai Te Mihi came highly recommended to me by various native Rapa Nuians as the best show on the island. I stopped by for their Thursday show without reservations. Entrance fee was 15,000 pesos (roughly $30 USD). Since I did not have reservations, I was seated towards the side and in the back. I'm not entirely sure how reservations are made since the show lacks a website but others did have reservations made in advance and got seats closer to the stage. The venue features a restaurant and bar. Music is performed live by a local band and is very good. The show was full of alot of energy and passion with crowd involvement in certain parts. So what stopped me from rating it higher? To be honest the whole thing seemed semi-amateur. From the start the tickets/payment at the door was run by employees who were unaware of what was going on. When the patrons in front of me demanded to go in for free because they knew someone in the show, the employees just stood there. This led to a bottleneck buildup of patrons trying to enter and a little dilemma that should have been moved to the side... The performance itself lacked technical skill in the dancing (although as I said energy and passion was there). This may not have been apparent to the average tourist who has never seen a Polynesian-type dance show before, but i've seen my fair share throughout the Pacific. To be brutally honest, the Hawaii Club luaus from my college days had more technical skill than what I paid for. While this is Rapa Nui culture and not Hawaiian/Tahitian, the show branched heavily into the latter which is why I feel it is fair to compare the technical skills to what i've previously seen. So why did I like it? Frankly, going to a show is one of the few places to see traditional Rapa Nui dress unless you make it out to the festival. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the show but it still left alot to be desired...Show lasted 1 hour 20 minutes. There is wifi if you ask a waitress/employee for the password. In a place like Easter Island where internet is hard to come by, this is another plus.

A cultura local é expressa nesse pequeno e aconchegante local.
