So fascinating to walk through a home once occupied by Neruda, the award winning Chilean poet and novelist. Really enjoyed the old pictures and personal memorabilia.

Interesting house and history. Narrow stairs, smallish rooms, breathtaking views. We had difficulty following the taped narrative; perhaps our fault and not theirs, but took away time from fully appreciating the facility. Well cared for, good place for history buffs to visit.

I went some days ago with my family and friends, we arrive around 12pm, and we had to stand in line for almost 2 hours. They do not have time tickets, and you have to wait in the line, in order to not loose your place. After the waiting, you are provided with an audio guide, to start the tour,The house is fantastic and funtastic!!!, The audioguide is very well done and tells you so many adventures and tips about Pablo Neruda, the house, his wife, and so on....is a very big house, Neruda was quite a collector, so, you can find thousands objects...Adorable,Absolutely recommend,Bring some book and something to eat, for the waiting line!!!

This house was probably my favorite site during this trip to Chile. We drove from Santiago to Isla Negra on our way to Valparaiso. It took us about an hour to arrive. It was a cloudy saturday morning, so it wasn't crowded with tourists. We quickly got our tickets and were welcomed by a very very funny guy from staff. He explained us how to use the audioguide and we were free to explore Neruda's house in our own timing. The audioguide was very interesting and it did a very good job in mixing information about the house itself and the life and poetry of Neruda. The house and its history is amazing and totally worth the visit. I was fortunate enough to have been reading Neruda's book "Confiesso que he vivido" and I could relate some of the book's contents to the house. If you have time, please do the same! You can also walk in the sorroundings of the house and explore the rocks by the sea. It has a beautiful view and it is no wonder that this was Neruda's favorite home.PS: Pictures inside the house are not allowed.

The location is nice enough but if you want to go to this place try to do it in the off-season (not Chilean Summer) as the queues are awful. When we went the queue was 2 hours. We arrived after midday and it was a weekend, so maybe it is also better earlier or on a weekday. It would be great if the foundation, which runs the place could introduce timed tickets so that you could at least make use of the 2-hour waiting time by exploring the area around the house (the coastline and craft markets - probably local businesses would be grateful....)

Pablo Neruda's Isla Negra home is located on the coast west of Santiago and south of Valapariso. Although it may require some effort to visit, it would be well worth your time to do so. The whimsical architecture, Neruda collections, i.e. nautical artifacts, and windswept oceanside locationwill brighten your day and put a smile on your face. One CON: Neruda has become a Chileno industry. As with the poet's other homes, you may have to endure a hoard of other visitors which will test your patience. If so, take a walk on the beach. Tours, taxis and car hires originate in Vina, Valpo and Santiago. For DIYers, Isla Negra can be reach by public transportation to San Antonio/El Quisco.

If you love the Sea, as Neruda did, you cannot miss this visit. A house built by the Sea and dedicated to the Sea, overlooking a dramatic scenery on the Pacific Ocean. The visit to the house, is complemented with the beautiful the poet wrote there and many histories about the man, the house, and the objects in there. Unforgettable experience.

This is the less visited Neruda’s house, but by far the greatest one! Don’t get me wrong, the other houses are amazing, but Isla Negra is the most special. The house is a bit far from the most touristic routes, but the trip was definitely worth the time and rustle. We hired a car and drove there from Viña del Mar, and I guess this is the easier way to do it, plus you can take your time and enjoy the ride stops. The house is unique and the view during sunset is just breathtaking! Do not miss it!
