Chilean national parks are varied in their accessibility, quality, and general service to visitors. The Río Cipreses reserve is surprisingly well appointed and managed by CONAF, the Chilean Forest Service equivalent. The road to get to the park is rudimentary so I would recommend a pickup (4x4 preferably) for the trip; also signs are not so clear and there are several possible ways to get there (a GPS is recommended too if you are a foreigner). One criticism I can mention is that the printed map you get at the entrance lacks detail so it is quite useless; take a picture with your phone of the map at the entrance instead and use that (I got lost several times inside the park for not thinking of this). I strongly recommend the "tricahue" trail, it is short and handicapped accessible. You arrive at the top of the cliff where you can see the rare colony of Tricahue parrots. They nest on the opposite side of the river on the cliff side. You should have binoculars or a powerful (300mm plus) telephoto lens to see them or photograph them there. Many parrots came to the nearby tress and I was able to take decent photos (see below). Another trail )Los Peumos) takes you to a beautiful waterfall (a 20 min hike up a hill) and a third, near the entrance to the park, to a nice lookout where you can see the valley. There are plenty of signs indicating the variety of plant life you can see. I recommend bringing along field guides for both plants and birds if you're interested in wildlife.Do not go near the campsites as they can be noisy and crowded; fortunately, most people don't venture far from their tents.

We were able to see some rare, endangered parrots with just a short walk. They were fantastic and well worth the bumpy ride. Do not go past the barricade as soon afterwards is a locked gate and it is dangerous to turn around.

We really wanted to visit the world heritage site the Sewell mining town but it is closed on Monday, so we [assed the entrance for the road to Sewell- barricaded with guards, and proceeded on to Reserva Nacional Rio de los Cipreses. We were not disappointed. We took a short hike along a trail that had many signs identifying the plants. There were many campsites with toilets, showers, bbq pits and clean up sinks, so a great place to camp. I suspect there mights be large groups on the weekends and during school holidays, but no one on a Monday afternoon. We didn't have a lot of time but late afternoon was a great time to visit. It does close at, I think it was 6PM.

Es un lugar muy lindo y no tan alejado del centro de la región (60 km del centro de Rancagua), cuenta con una gran cantidad de senderos especiales para personas que les gusta hacer trekking, incluso tiene uno para minusvalidos con pavimentación y letreros braille, 100% recomendado.

Esta reserva nacional destaca por sus muy bien señalizados senderos. Si bien es gigantesca, lo que se puede recorrer a pie es poco pero deja absolutamente satisfecho.Fuimos con mi pareja en enero de este año e hicimos todos los senderos disponibles. Hay un pozón muy agradable para refrescarse. Como andábamos a pie, luego aprovechamos de devolvernos hacia la entrada del parque por otro sendero que encamina muchísimo.Hay que tener cuidado de ir en verano, ya que la capacidad del parque colapsa. Por otro lado, no cuenta con luz, por lo que hay que llevar iluminación propia.No es necesario llevar todos los víveres, ya que al menos en el verano, hay habilitado un kiosco donde comprar pan, huevos y provisiones varias.En resumen, actividades para todo el día. Perfecto para un fin de semana romántico y deportivo.

Esta hermosa reserva nacional, puede ser visitada por toda la familia, puedes ir por el día o quedarte a acampar. Hay bellas y refrescantes piscinas naturales, cascadas y riachuelos.Si te quedas a acampar, en la noche, puedes ver la bóveda celeste redonda y muy cerca de tus ojos.

Calabarcar

El camino muy lindo para llegar, popular, buen paisajismo del sitio de camping. No hay servicios específicos para camper, pero se puede estar autosuficiente sin problemas. Buenos Baños, y Lavaderos. Al llegar hay que elegir un espacio y esperar a desempacar para ver como son los vecinos...Lejos del Reguetón lo pasamos bien, algunos inofensivos mosquitos atraídos por la luz. Despertamos con un lindo amanecer y seguimos subiendo la ruta.

Fuimos a acampar por el fin de semana y lo encontré muy bonito, baños limpios y bien cuidado el parque. Recomiendo que si van con niños se queden en Ranchillo pero si son puros adultos tricahue ya que hay mas arbolitos para tener sombra, en ranchillo esta mas cerca la posa de agua, la cual es congelada el agua y tiene mas áreas verdes pero hay pocos árboles por lo cual es muy caluroso en verano.

Linda vista, natureza, ótimo para passar o dia em família. O que não conseguimos ver foram os famosos pumas que diz a lenda que rondam por lá.
