We stayed at Hotel Altiplanico in San Jose de cajon del Maipo and was advised to visit Banos Morales. The road to the place is terrible but the place is absolutely beautiful. We decided to trek 8 kilometers in the National Park and to be honest: The first 2 kilometers is almost straight up but the rest is quite easy and there is a great view to the mountains and the glaciers around the park. It gives a good taste of how rough the Andes are without actually climbing the mountains.A good advice is to bring as much water as you can carry.

Baños Morales is about 100 km away from Santiago de Chile in a small village called Cajon del Maipo. The road ir rough, but you can do it with a normal car. I had 4x4 but most people had standard cars. We went there to see the mountains on the way and to bathe in the thermal waters. I used to visit Onses in Japan and thought that this would be similar, but it was not. The water comes bubbling out of the ground is relatively cold -about 20-25 Celcius. The water is brown from the minerals and sulfur, but it does not smell bad. Locals had a custom to buy a small bag of mad and cover themselfs with that . They let the mud dry before entering the water. Apparently that has a posititve effect on skin?If you have a tight schedule, don´t bother about Banos Morales, but if you have enough time to expore, this is an interesting one day trip from Santiago.

These baths are advertised as "having the necessary facilities to cater to the many visitors who come every year." I disagree unless you really like rustic. The bathrooms are just basic and edging on disgusting. The floor of the pools is the thermal mud so it may feel very creepy when you step on it. And the color of the waters. . . very very brown. Also, it is cold, so don't expect a warm thermal bath. Though advertised at 25 degrees Celsius, an earthquake brought down the temperature. Bring your own food and drink by the way, the guest houses around do not prepare decent meals either. I would rather go hiking in the Cerro Morado trail which is a gorgeous 5 hour trail. However, you need to go prepared with good hiking boots because it is not a hike for the feeble minded.

Primero. Están en la región metropolitana.Este paseo es muy agradable desde Santiago, todo el entorno. Se sube a la montaña entre valles, al final por camino de ripio que dependiendo de la epoca del año puede estar con barro o nieve. Recomiendo ir en auto con buen despegue del suelo (no necesariamente 4x4). Los baños son muy rústicos, pocos servicios, no hay restoranes, así que ir preparados y bajar con luz.

O lugar por si só é lindo mas água termal que é bom, nada. O dia estava muito quente mas a água, fria. Tentei ir a Banos Colina mas tinha uma poça dágua funda demais para meu humulde Spark alugado. Se forem pra lá, peguem um carro mais alto e se for estilo off road melhor. Estrada toda em cascalho. Recomendo fazer revisão do carro( água, óleo e freio) e levar comida e água para consumo. É preciso pagar para entrar lá!!!!

Tentamos chegar a banos colina e não conseguimos, pois estavamos com carro comum e era necessário 4x4 para passar por enormes poças. Ficamos em banos morales, o ponto bom é que não havia ninguem nas piscinas, o ponto ruim é que as piscinas não são muito quentes, tem no máximo uns 30 graus, o que nao permite relaxar muito.

Fui a Carron del Maipo e entrei para conhecer os Baños Morales, a água é de morna para fria, e a água é meio barrenta, não entrei. O local em si é lindo, mas se quiser se banhar em termas, ir à Baños Morales não compensa muito. Não cheguei a ir, mas ir até Baños Colina acredito ser melhor, é uns 40 minutos de carro deste local, a água é bem mais quente e menos barrenta.

Um lugar tranquilo que conheci ao ir para o Monumento El Morado. Fomos no hotel cascada de las animas, muito bonito o lugar com opções de atividades dentro do hotel. Fomos até lá porque realizamos com eles o trekking para el morado.

Baños Morales possui uma termas de águas "calientes" e é local de entrada do Parque Nacional para fazer a trilha até o Monumento Natural El Morado. Paga-se uma pequena quantia para entrada do parque, controlado pela Conaf. É possível chegar de transporte público desde Santiago, metrobus nº72 saindo aos finais de semana da estação de metrô Bellavista La Florida.

Realmente a natureza ao redor é mágica, vale a pena a visita, agora a entrada é realmente pessoal. Eu não curti entrar, porém havia 2 casais curtindo o banho, que dizem ter propriedades medicinais, mas fora isso depende muito do mês da visita, pois o frio em alguns meses...
