The museum has wide variety of exhibits including both nature and history of Punta Arenas and Patagonia in General. This is the must-to-see museum to learn about Patagonia.

This house was built by a family in the early 1900s and donated to be used as a museum. Most of the information is about the history of the area and it's founders.

This is a nice old house that had the classic families of Punta Arenas living here. Was very crowded when we visited and there was nothing extremely special about it.

This classic nineteenth century mansion is generally well furnished with original artifacts and has the potential to be quite interesting, worthy of a bit more than an hour. However, for English-only speakers it fails because there is precious little English descriptive material, including in the handouts. The worst problem is there is no signage telling one how to access the lower level (out the back door, down stairs, and in another unmarked door) and if it weren't for the disjointed commentary in the handout we would have left having missed half of the museum. Also, carry on items are not permitted inside and must be left in the foyer, hoping that the guard/admissions officer will safekeep everything.

I can not figure out why this is not ranked higher in Trip Advisor. In the opinion of my wife and myself this house/ is a top attraction. This was the former home of the wool baron families of Braun-Menendez.it was occupied by the families at the turn of the 19th century. What makes this house so special is that it contains all of the original furniture in immaculate condition. Pictures are allowed without flash.Tip: you can pull in the narrow driveway behind the museum and park directly behind the museum.

It's a long time since I had this feeling of frustration when visiting a museum. Punta Arenas woluld have lots to show to the world but they don't care. The museum is addressed to Spanish speaking community only. The English explanations are poor and not easily connected to the rooms. DISAPOINTING same probably for other languages

We liked everything about this museum. very well presented and preserved and informative. The guides were helpful but not overly agressive in showing the rooms.

We enjoyed this museum. Most of the displays had english subtitles for those who don't read spanish. A very well done museum. The only problem is that they are closed several hours during lunch time (at least in the winter). It is are a few blocks from the Cemetery which we also found very interesting and worth a visit
