Probably most people rather go to Achao than to Lemuy, but Lemuy is definitely worth a visit. Smaller, quieter and more remote than Achao, Lemuy is a great spot to meet the Chilote culture. You have to drive to Chonchi, south from Castro, and take a ferry to get there, and it is better to go by car, since the different towns, and churches, are not close by. Lemuy has at least 4 churches, and 3 three of them are part of the UNESCO´s World Heritage, Ichuac, Aldachildo and Deitf, if you don´t have much time you might want to skip the last one, that is further away from the other two, and might not be that nice. Puqueldon´s church is not ugly, it has 2 towers, but I would definitely recommend to go here!

Very quiet and unique atmosphere ! Beautiful churches and breathtaking views . Be prepared for rain at any moment, but there is always sunshine afterwards

My wife and I spent a day in Lemuy Island. Once we disembarked we did the Parque Yayanes (highly recommendable) trail and had a delicious and very authentic lunch there. Later we headed to Detif using alternative routes with some very nice views. As a matter of fact it may be better to use the dirt roads than the main highway because it's so winding that you end up dizzy. In Detif we visited the shop from Ms. Gloria Mansilla. She has a lot of beautiful and exclusive woven baskets and bags that are worth seeing. I bought five Christmas presents! Only accepts cash... Overall, the splendid views, the abundance of natural forest and the welcoming people make me highly recommend visiting Lemuy Island.

The landscape is great, people are very nice and the churches are gorgeous. We decided to spend a full day at Lemuy Island and we enjoyed every minute. The Island is very hilly and you are constantly surprised by the next landscape after the hill. You only need a full tank because there are no gas stations in the Island, but it is very short (the longest distance was 26KM from Chulchuy to Detif). Also, you take a ferry which is an attraction for the kids.

While you can island-hop independently, it can be a hassle to time the bus and ferry departures so that they coincide. Most people go with a tour, which you can buy from many tour operators in town. Also, public transportation options on the islands aren't great so you might be better off on a tour where you'll get to visit the rural areas, rather than be confined to the main towns . In low season (from April to October) though, it is likely that your only option is to go out on your own as the tour agencies won't leave without a full tour.

excelente camping la granjita!!! la imaginación no tiene limites. Esw un camping hecho con materiales reutilizados de la pesca!! simplemente maravilloso, ultra recomendado. A pesar, tener solo un método de locomoción (averiguar en el cruce al ferry) vale la pena

Excelente y hermoso lugar donde puedes sentir y entender lo que significa estar en ese maravilloso conjunto de islas, con intermitencias entre la tierra y el agua. Imprescindible llegar a Detif, donde pasas por una carretera que es la única franja de tierra que separa las aguas.Además, en Detif encontramos una familia que tiene un hermoso lugar donde hacen canopi ($7.000), puentes congantes y senderismo. Es realmente hermoso. Y venden unas ricas onces!!Eso sí, ir provisionado de alimentos, ya que no se encuentran muchos lugares para comer.

Este paseo permite conocer 4 de las iglesias que son Patrimonio de la Humanidad. Sus paisajes con impresionantes, se debe llegar hasta Dietif, en el camino hay un mirador que permite ver ambos lados de la isla al mismo tiempo. imperdible.

Imperdible es el camino a Detif al final de la isla. Se pueden visitar 3 iglesias patrimonio de la humanidad: Ichuac, Aldachildo y Detif.

Es una pequeña Isla que queda en las cercanías de Chonchi, a unos kilómetros de esta ciudad se va a tomar el trasbordador ($2.500 por auto), un viaje super cortito y llegas a la Isla, cuando llegamos había una fiesta costumbrista en Lincay, muy rustica, genial, la gente super agradable y muy rica comida, al igual que en Puqueldón que es donde nos quedamos, está todo cerquita, así que muy bien. Por cierto en Puqueldón fuimos a una feria gastronómica exquisita, muy entrete y con degustación de papas, las cuales alcanzan mas de 400 tipos en Chiloe. Lugares recomendables sobre todo por sus iglesias: Aldachildo (pequeñita, pero muy sucia las playas), Detif que tb tiene una iglesia, el camino es maravilloso y hay miradores muy bellos sobre todo en el de la franja que ves el mar a ambos lados, no alcanzamos a ir al parque Yayanes, pero dicen que es muy bello. Camino entre puqueldón y Detif, hay un mirador llamado la gruta de Lourdes tiene una panorámica muy bella de la isla
