Kayak and picnic at the lake is a "must-do". Water is crystal clear and the view is amazing! Our guides prepared a picnic with cheese and local wine that we will never forget. We have four kids (from 2 to 8 years old) and they all loved it.

We did the three lakes circuit. Really beautiful scenery. The uphill climb is much shorter than the trail signs suggest and there's a couple of great views back to Volcan Villarrica. If you head to Lago Toro first, there's a puntilla you can walk down to for a great dive into the water swimming spot.

We went for a hike with the whole family to visit the cascade, the first stop when you enter Huerquehue. The trail was absolutely stunning with enormous native trees and unique wildlife. Perfect spot for birders and nature lovers, it is truly a magical scenario. We will definitely aim to the the longer trail next time we visit to reach las lagunas. You will need a car in good condition as the road that leads to the park is quite rough. There is food and water on the way and plenty of spots where you can rest and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake and volcano. A true gem.

The Los Lagos hike is amazing... While there is a steep incline to get to the area of the lakes - the views are incredible to behold. Some of the lakes are a deep blue or blue green and the forested regions between the lakes offer shade and interesting flora and bird life. During the Summer we did struggle a little with the flies, but it was worth it!

We took a bus from Pucon and it took us under two hours to reach. The walk is not tough and very pretty. Def, a must do if in Pucon. :) We got drenched and decide to take shelter at the refugio - drank hot chocolate and were rejuvenated enough to go back to rain and walk more! :)
