This Botanical Garden is HUGE and very beautiful. But the zoo is poorly set up, maintained and financed. The Municipal Government should shop it out to a third party for administration with the condition that it be made into a REAL ZOO!!!

It's not got many animals and some of them look very bored, just pacing up and down inside their cages/pens. They all seem pretty healthy though. Only takes 30mins to see everything but not bad for 5mil!

Well, when I go a park I like to lay down and realx a little bit. The park look good, but there wasn't really a good lawn where we could sit and there were ants like EVERYWHERE! In addition there were also cars driving around so it doesn't really get quiet and you don't the tranquility like in other places. For us, not a beautiful or peaceful place.

No security people around, lots of robbers and gangs go around it freely

I hear the scenery here is very pretty and the zoo is a little nicer that what the norm is for south america. Many times a "zoo" means small cages for large animals...we've even been to one that all the animals were taxidermied! But I hear they are trying very hard to treat the animals well and take care of the grounds. We plan to visit this park before we leave Paraguay.
