We stayed only one night in Filandia (a GREAT town, we chose it over Salento to avoid crowds and tourists) at "Hostel Filandia". Our goal was to learn about the coffee tree, cultivation, processing and basically all that has to do with coffee. We are DELIGHTED that we arranged this with Danilo Goméz. He was professional, knowledgeable, personable and someone I wish I had in my life daily! His daughter was in town visiting from Bogotá, so we also got to meet her. By the time we left, we were so emotionally touched...we left part of our hearts in Filandia. Donilo's tour can be as long, or as short as you'd like. We took a 1/2 hour bus ride from town, to the village where he is just a block from the bus drop off - he was there waiting for us. I highly recommend this finca, or plantation, and Filandia is a nice compliment to the whole experience. We want to return! This was also cheap, I believe the tour was around $15 a person. The people, the colors, the aromas, the lanscape.. This whole area will take your breath away!!!! I want to go back and spend a longer period in the area and learn spanish.. It really rocked my world.

We visited the coffee hectares in Colombia, and took an amazing tour at Finca Osaca, which the coffee production was an organic type, and the entire process was shown to us on its original way.The lady (Vilma) our tour was very good explaining the coffee production, and took us for a walk to see the entire growth of the seed step by step until the collect the fruit and process it.

This was perhaps the absolute highlight of my recent trip to Colombia. The cafe growing area is a superb and beautiful area of gorgeous landscape, varied with all sorts of wonderful food that the whole world consumes, it was a real pleasure being here and people from Colombia are rightfully proud to have been blessed with such a Paradise on Earth. We stayed two nights in the Decameron hotel Heliconas and took a tour with our guide trhough the lovely town of Quimbio, Finlandia and Salento, stopping off in each town and drinking a lovely tinto coffee in Jesus Martin Cafe in Salento, on the main square. A wonderful and memorable experience. We then travelled further to the Valle del Cocaura and viewed the magisterial and other worldly palm trees which grown up the sides of the high mountains, cloaked in mist. Spectacular. Dont miss this experience.

Los paisajes del eje cafetero son mágicos. Los contrastes de la vegetación y el clima son espectaculares. Hay muchos sitios de interés y centros de atracción que hacen de un viaje a esta zona algo inolvidable y queda uno con ganas de volver. La comida es deliciosa, la gente es muy amable y el café, sin palabras.

viajar al Eje Cafetero es encontrarse con un sitio que la UNESCO ha declarado Patrimonio de la humanidad, y esto no se descubre como ver un monumento estático, hay que viajar por sus carreteras, las cuales son fantásticos miradores naturales rodeado de verdes, visitar sus pueblos con encanto, adentrarse en su naturaleza diversa y hermosa. Las fincas cafeteras son encantadoras, pues se conoce el proceso para obtener el mejor café suave del mundo, escuchando las historias de vida, el esfuerzo de los caficultores.Es un lugar que me encanta y siempre recomendare.

El territorio paisaje cultural cafetero es hermoso, la cultura, las tradiciones, el café, la gente, la naturaleza, las experiencias, el estilo de vida, es un territorio lleno de experiencias entorno al café y a sus multiples opciones de componentes experienciales que se pueden vivir desde hacer un coffee tour o andar por un pueblo con encanto hasta montar en parapente o globo por los exhuberantes paisajes cafeteros y palma de cera mas alta del mundo.

Desde Pijao se puede ver la Olla cel Quindio. Me tome en una cafeteria junto a la alcaldia, uno de los mejores capuchinos que he probado. La atencion es 1A. Hay que ir a Recuca (via Caicedonia-Armenia), tomar forcha en la via, probar canotaje en Barragan, ir al Parque de la Guadua, Mariposaurio. Todo queda cerca. La comida es excelente, abundante y barata. Hay que ir al Parque del Cafe tambien, Salento.Esta zona es la mas amable del pais.

En la Colombia del interior, se encuentra el Eje Cafetero. Es un lugar que rompe los esquemas de la Colombia de la costa que es la más conocida por el turista extranjero. Es una zona de una gran belleza donde se encuentra la montaña el Nevado del Ruiz en la ciudad de Manizales. Dentro de esta zona hay un parque temático en el Parque Nacional del Café muy interesante de visitar. La mayoría de las atracciones están relacionadas con la cultura del café, aunque también es posible dar un paseo a caballo o en un pequeño tren.Muy interesante de visitar también es el municipio de Salento que me ha agradado mucho por ser un lugar especialmente atractivo.
