As I have visited many beaches I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that they only charge $2. A chair including the umbrella. Very affordable. During the week the beach is quiet but be aware that on the weekend wealthy ecuadorians come to their vacation homes and the beach is packed.

Very crowded, fuel from boats in the water, the beach was a garbage dump, not at all like the rest of the coast in this part of the country. It is a big city beach and it shows. You can rent jet ski's here if your interested; $20 per half hour, prices are negotiable.

We were at that beach for two days and loved it, the sun was nice we had a big tent all we needed to have a great time. If you in Salinas I recommend that you take some time to relax in the beach. Always clean and easy to walk.

Good one way street along the beach lined with many restaurants, shops, and hotels. We were there the day that the Barcelona soccer team won the right to proceed to the National Championship match the following week in Guayquil. The street was filled with hundreds of motorcycles and trucks full of fans in a victory parade. We were driving south from Manta and every little town had people gathered watching the match on TV.

This beach is at best average, but perhaps our experience was different because we visited on a holiday (New Year's Day.) The traffic was terrible and the beach was packed. The beach itself is just ok. I would not go back.

The beaches and walk (Malecon) in Salinas are very popular with the people of Guayaquil and surroundings. As a resort it is lively and filled with bars, fairly good restaurants-happy people meandering. Some very nice apartment buildings are on the outskirts of Salinas and the beaches are cleaner and whiter. The sands of Salinas are not soft and white like the Bahamas or Hawaii, but nice to walk on. There are no amenities like you would find in classier places but La Playa is a nice getaway..

Before travelling I imagined Salinas different, I found a very nice place (and in some parts very such modern). We walked along its beatiful beach for some km and the temperature was perfect (not hot and not cold). We ate in one of a lot of cevicherias (in the market) and we found the seafood incredible. We spent very good time in Salinas with our family and I will remember this time and this place for long time.

As we were there in the off-season period, the beach was only moderately crowded. However, walking down the malecon, there were many vendors hawking their wares. A good selection of restaurants and many tourist hotels.

This is a great beach for everyone, you just have to know when to go. I was there in May and June which was perfect for me. No crowds, quiet and peaceful, no humidity, cool temps, only used the A/C in condo for the noise effect sleep enhancement it gives me. Really great balcony weather where I spent a lot of time.Later in what we in the U.S. call Winter, it changes to hot weather, busy crowds leading up to absolute crazy non-stop 24 hour partying from before Christmas through New Years. I've not seen that personally but I've seen video of the beach and they are having fun. Then it stays busy for a few more months tapering off to what I now prefer as a Senior Citizen. You just need to research your time of year before planning a trip. Some are perfect for families, some for teens, etc..There are accommodations for every budget, it just depends on how far (blocks) you care to walk to the beach. Also food at all prices, even cook your own if you rent a condo on the beach.

Salinas beach is a nice sheltered beach in the middle of the Salinas strip, with tons of access to restaurants and shops, plus a multitude of hotels. You can rent a beach chair for the day, but be prepared to be accosted by the beach vendors selling everything from ice cream to temporary tattoos. (Including beer and chair and table sets.) While fascinating for the first 15-20 minutes, after two hours you're exhausted. If you want a quieter experience, go to the next beach over, which I believe is called Chipipe. But if you want entertainment pull up a seat on Salinas beach and watch the circus.
