This a good place to people watch, catch the tour bus or visit the cathedral. What I like especially well are the arboretums they created over the benches to shade them from the sun.You can find examples of E. Varga's work with the tiles that decorate the wall are his works of art.

A nice plaza located in the center of old town. A pretty and peaceful place to find a sunny, or shady park bench to sit and watch people. There are vendors selling ice cream and other goodies and the people are warm and friendly.

The Plaza was buzzing with young couples, families, and friends hanging out together. There was a music festival while we were there. A variety of musicians played every kind of music, from American pop to folk tunes. Beauty queens preened on the sidewalk, for the enjoyment of all.

We are in Loja on an extended vacation and this plaza is one of our favorite destinations to grab a park bench, soak in the sun and people watch. The weekends tend to be more interesting when the locals come to town in their distinctive and very colorful styles of dress. There is often live entertainment on weekends as well. The city cathedral sits on the east side of the plaza and it is worth a visit. The city’s tourist office is located on the northwest corner of the plaza. On the southwest corner is one of our favorite cafes, Gina’s, at Calle Bolivar y 10 de Agusto. It is a great place to grab a cup of Lojano coffe or something light to eat. I would rate this plaza/park with five stars if only there was an outdoor restaurant or two.

Loja und seine plaza ist dem Verfasser seit fast 20 Jahren bestens bekannt. Man sollte also meinen, dass er allmählich einen persönlichen Zugang zu diesem sehr rasch wachsenden Zentrum des fernen Südens von Ecuador hat. Dem ist aber nicht so. Denn wann immer er hier durchkommt, findet er hier ein Publikum, das ziemlich provinziell wirkt und sich für lateinamerikanische Verhältnisse erstaunlich wenig enthusiastisch gibt. Andererseits muss man zugeben, dass Loja im Landesvergleich ausgesprochen sauber und gepflegt wirkt, die älteren, recht schmucken, aber geschmacklich bieder erscheinenden Gebäude aus der Wende des 19. Zum 20. Jahrhunderts im Umfeld der Plaza Central inbegriffen. Da sich aber die Stadt und ihr Publikum auf der Plaza eher kultiviert hausbacken gibt, kommt der Verdacht auf, dass es sich um ein ziemlich spießbürgerliches Ambiente handelt. Das wird durch eher durch häufig vernehmbare schmalzige Musikvorlieben und die Tatsache unterstrichen, dass hier ab 20:00 die „Bürgersteige hochgeklappt werden“ sowie nur in wenigen Kneipen die Andeutung von Betrieb herrscht. Da ist das wesentlich kleinere Zamora in den wärmeren Gefilden jenseits des Kordillerenpasses im Oriente schon eine andere Welt: Hier ist die Musik gleich fetziger und das Fußvolk treibt sich abends deutlich länger um…

Lo bonito de esté parque ,es su cuidado esmerado ,con su Catedral y Casa de Gobernación a ambos lados del mismo, muy seguro en la noche para caminar

muy bonita la plaza, especial mente para un paseo nocturno, se puede caminar con tranquilidad en las noches

Esta mal la ubicación seria bueno q los usuarios puedan corregir manualmente hacer modificaciones en la ubicación y tambien fotos nocturnas
