My wife and I hike around this lake before our Cotopaxi summit attempt to help acclimate before the climb. It was an amazing view and is worth it just to come and hike while you visit Cotopaxi. Can't wait to ride the bike trail next time we downhill Cotopaxi.

This is a really cold and windy place u might bring a coat!! Here u can have a really nice sights from Cotopaxi volcano!! U could also see around here some birds, wild horses,sometimes a fox!! And its nice to visit this famous place!!

Limpiopungo is a beautiful lake formed by water from the glaciers. There are many indigenous plants, flowers and birds around the lake. The walk around the lake is easy and flat. A great place to visit.

We enjoyed the comfortable trail around the lake, although it was very cold and foggy that morning. We could only imagine how beautiful it must be to see all the mountains around this high-altitude lake on a sunny day. Next time!

Visit this place if you want to see birds and beautiful plants! Give yourself time and chance to acclimatise to the altitude in order to fully appreciate this place. The path is well kept and the viewing stations are a great place to see the water birds.

During our 3.5 week stay in Ecuador we hired a guide/driver for two days to take us to Laguna Quilotoa, Saquisili and Cotopaxi. If you want more info about the guide, please mail me.As part of our tour to the Cotopaxi, we walked around this lake. It is a nice walk with amazing views (also of the Cotopaxi) and if you are lucky, you will get to see some animals like deer and horses .. and birds ofcourse.

Laguna de Limpiopungo is a beautiful place but you have seen everthing (if you are not a birdwatcher) pretty soon. Of course there wild horses around there are amazing. We stopped to the Laguna after claiming to the edge of Cotopaxi glacier.

Bella naturaleza, ideal para regresar del ascenso al Volcan cotopaxi, hacer una aclimatacion de altura y preciosos paisajes!!!!

El llegar a este lugar con cielo despejsado con el volcan frente a la laguna y con su reflejo es uno de esos momentos y paisajes que valen la pena vivirlos. Este lugar esta al paso de ingreso al volcán y pues es muy hermoso ademas de la vida silvestre que se ve a los alrededores.
