Our whole group of four different people all voted this the highlight of our trip. Friendly welcome, idyllic environment, amusing and informative performance. A glimpse into history, food production, customs that had all the visitors under their spell. Demonstrations live - and we made our own flax lunch plates which got us involved right from the start. A lot was to do with self sufficiency in the event of natural disasters. The most impressive was how to start a fire which we wouldn't have believed had we not seen it. A great morning.

Great learning experience. We had an awesome guide that knew the answer to every question. A great way to promote the culture. We got to try the food we saw being made, it was delicious i had seconds!!

nice cultural center - gave nice insight into Samoan history and culture, which we appreciated. Had no idea they were the ones that settled Hawaii.

I liked everything about my experience here the performers where friendly and informative. It was a great way to get insight into some of their traditions. After the show it's just a short walk to the markets.

Basic and chill is how the Samoan's live. The best way to do it! The villages you see on your journey are a plenty. With a lot of Churches - Religion is so important don't forget that. I did struggle with the strays being an animal lover. But the homes are all so beautiful and bright - happy!

If you ever get the opportunity to stay with a family I recommend it. A highlight of the trip. Met a lovely family and learnt a lot about Samoan culture

Wood carving, tattooing amazing to watch. The wood carver even gave us the story of the carving he was working on. Watching the women working on the tapa cloth was so interesting.

I've been twice to this attraction. The first time we got there at the end of all the demo's but made it in time for the dancing and eating portion at the very end. That was last year, this year we made sure to get there earlier and managed to take in a few more demo's. If this is your first visit to samoa and you want to know why things are the way they are, then its a really good place to put on your itinerary. There was one guy who seemed to be the leader of the entire demo and he was really good, able to answer all sorts of questions about Samoan culture and you came away with a better understanding of the people and their way of life. It is nothing like the cultural centre in Hawaii, it is a lot more like the rest of Samoa in that it's really low key, nothing fancy. I thought the guy who talked you through each demo was the highlight of the cultural village.Plan to spend the better part of your morning here if you want to take in every demonstration, there is no fee to pay and there are plenty of options around town for lunch if you stay the whole day. We also took in the Catholic Cathedral across the road from the village and that I highly recommend going inside just to check out the artwork on the ceiling. You are allowed in to take pictures the only area not accessible to visitors is the altar, ladies might also be asked to cover their shoulders if you are wearing a singlet(tank top) or sleeveless (tube style) top.
