My teenager and I had an excellent time at the range. Bruce (owner/instructor) went out of his way to show us a good time. We shot targets with the .22, clays with the shotgun and then distant targets (435 metres) with the AR15 (if you play Xbox you'd call it an M16). This was definitely one of our highlights while visiting Nelson. It's a must-do. Thanks Bruce.

For first time shooters we were surprised at how easy it was and how much fun we had. The host Bruce was friendly and showing patient coaching and encouragement to all of us. We thought it was good value for money and the great weather made for a fun day out for the family. Youngest child 12 eldest 15.

Our family had the pleasure of a guided trip with Nick. The trip around Peppin Island was stunning. Beautiful coloured sea water, seals, birds and stunning rock gardens, channels, caves and waterfalls. This is a beautiful trip with many interesting things to see. I highly recommend this activity. Take your swimwear and some snacks.

I suggest ringing to organise a day/time as emails were not answered regularly, but once date organised, it went well and Bruce was very friendly and patient with those of us that were first time shooters. We got to use 3 different guns: 22 rifle for targets/duelling tree - competing against each other was fun, shotgun for clay pigeon shooting, and then 223 with scope for the faraway targets. All done in an old quarry as too many noise complaints at his property, so bit rustic but all that's needed for just over an hour for 4 of us. He is talking about building shelters, which would be needed if up there longer to protect from sun or wind. All in all, we had fun :)

This attraction is really great fun for kids and adults alike. Our group was six adults, and two children aged nine and ten. The owner / expert was an excellent guide, very patient in his instructions, and all in all a pleasant guy.The facilities area little barren, being in an old quarry area, but that makes it ideal for the type of activity.We were given instruction in, and chance to first of all fire 0.22 calibre rifles. First at paper targets, and then at a 'duelling tree' in pairs. This involved attempting to shoot so many metal targets down, and if enough shots were left, we could shoot at the other persons targets to reinstate them!! This caused a lot of very friendly rivalry.Clay pigeon shooting came next, one lot of ten single shots, and then five singles, and five rapid shots, all using 12 bore shotguns.The final event was sniper rifle shooting at a target high up in the hill, approximately 450 metres distant. Three targets of differing sizes were on offer, and were given five shots each. Again rivalry came to the fore, especially when the kids were better (almost) than the adults.All in all well worth $50 NZ per adult, we were there for about 4 hours, and the time flew by.There are some improvements in the planning stage for facilities, and this will enhance the experience.Make it a must if you are in the Nelson area.
