Take the water taxi and have them drop you off. They will pick you up 2 hours later at a different cove. Take lunch and water.

We were dropped off at Torrent Bay by a water taxi to begin our hike back to Marahau. The trail is well maintained with no obstacles. We especially enjoyed hearing the Bellbirds along the hike. There are wonderful variations in the hike's terrain. One minute you are in the jungle and the next you are atop a cliff overlooking the gorgeous blue ocean, then on an open tidal flat - amazing!

We travelled to Kaiteriteri to walk part of the Abel Tasman Coast Track. We took the Wilson's trip "A Great Day Out" with stops at Split Apple Rock, Apple Tree Bay, Anchorage, Medlands Beach and Tonga Quarry. We walked from Medlands Beach to Anchorage and it took us about 4hrs. It was a very enjoyable walk. Be sure to bring lunch and lots of water, there is no where to purchase food on the track and limited bathrooms. We purchased the Wilson's lunch option and it was very filling. The next day we visited Golden Bay but we felt the Track was much better.

We stayed at The Barn campsite in Sandy Bay (which I don't seem to be able to find on TA) A very convenient site near to booking areas for kayak hire and water taxis etc. We took a water taxi a little way up the coast so we could walk back along the walk (around4hrs) to the campsite. We thought 4hrs was enough, another younger couple decided to do the 6 hour walk and thought it was too long. As this is a popular walk, the paths sometimes get a little crowded but there is always a nice beach to walk down to now and then.

ok, we did not walk too much, just 2 hours from one watergtaxi-stop to the next. the path is very well prepared, great views, nice birds ...

I am in love. I want to move from auckland live in motueka. ..and enjoy this region. Fresh food..clear waters. .lovely cruisy people..mountains..walks, vineyards..kayaking. .fishing. .boating..sailing..diving...and bike rides. Dont just think hike the park. Dont limit your thoughts about just a hike...although stunning even the 19km we did and swim etc.so much more to experience in the region spend days !!!

Amzing landscapes, perfect beaches, great easy walk. The walk is easy and well marked. Beautiful colors. It worths a go :)

We arrived in time to take the last afternoon Marahau water taxi to Anchorage. We had Skipper Glenn, who added enormously to our trip. Do ask Skipper Glenn, about his headaches at home!We inadvertently dropped a small camera tripod in the taxi, however a call to the 0800 #, and we where thrilled to find the tripod at the visitors center, on completion of our hike. More kudos for Skipper Glenn! As for the hike out, it was beautiful. Really nice bathrooms available at Anchorage, before we set out! Well maintained trail and not a single piece of trash. So glad we put this hike into our schedule. Peter and Amy

We loved our day at Abel Tasman National Park. We walked the track from Medlands Beach to Anchorage Bay (about 12 km) and enjoyed the sights along the way - the swing bridge, Cleopatra's Pool and especially the gorgeous Torrent Bay. I can't recommend this highly enough. I only wish we had time to do more than one day on the Track.

We took a water taxi from marahau to anchorage bay and walked back to marahau. We were followed on the boat by a pod of dolphins!! Awesome! We also saw seals on the way. The walk is stunning, you are able to access lots of secluded bays, with pristine white sand and the bluest sea ever. Absolutely stunning.
