The year before I wrote about a restaurant in Magog on our visit to this Eastern township of Quebec. This area has a lot to offer. This year, we attended the world renowned Orford festival organized by Orford Arts Centre which is located near the Mt Orford National Park. This annual event promotes classical and jazz music. This year, it was held from June 27 to Aug 17. This event draws music lovers and interns who come from more than 20 countries. These interns who are already full fledged musicians, rubbed shoulders with internationally famous musicians. For the first time in the program, each concert started with a short performance by an outstanding student from 2014 Orford Academy. The concerts were well attended with lots of variety to suit many. Early booking is recommended, even the meals offered by the Bistro on location. Some concerts are free. The meals at the Cafeteria are self-served that would feed hungry stomachs. A program can be ordered on-line.We stayed at Hotel Cheribourg, less than a kilometer from the Centre. The hotel offers well appointed challets, a spa, a restaurant and several recreational activities. I enjoyed daily swim and a walk up Mt Orford. This year, the indoor swimming pool was divided into two halves that made it unsatisfactory for a lane swimmer. The management promptly made amend by sending me to Manoir Des Sables, which is a pleasant walk of 15 min. There I was treated as a VIP.Sommet Restaurant at Hotel Cheribourg serves regional cuisine which is very good. Since we did not book the Bistro at the Centre, for a change of flavour, we found a delightful cafe, Aux 2 Tomates (819-868-3852), next door to a gas station before the first exit to the highway on the way to Magog. From the outside, we thought it was a pizza place. But it offered home cooked meals which changed frequently at bargain prices. We ate there three times during our stay and no two meals were the same. The lady manager speaks very little English. The chef makes up the language difficulty by serving a genuine French Cuisine. Centre attracts young international musicians to their Master classes. Then you have the opportunity to see some of these students perform for free. A few years back I took my boys to see these concerts while vacationing in the area (good role models and initiation to classical). Refer to schedule on website or call for these concerts or take in some of the regular programming well worth the price!Classical lovers enjoy the high caliber of these performances.

restaurant se trouvant dans le parc du MT Orford, au cewntre d'art, beau milieu et les repas sont variés et exellents. le menu du midi est très abordable, l'ambiance sereine et beau service.

Bonne vision peu importe le siège. Bon acoustiqueTempérature un peu trop chaude. L'endroit est très facile d'accès à partir de l'autoroute 10. Et il y a de bons endroit pour pour dormir tout près.

j'ai le décor de l'endroit en plus l'animation musicale et le buffet. Le problème est la localisation du centre car on peut le dépasser quand on est pas un habitué.

Nus avons eu le bonheur d'assister à quelques reprises, aux concerts de la relève au centre d'arts Orford et ce fut les plus belles soirées de notre été 2013. Ces événements sont offert gracieusement par de jeunes musiciens et musiciennes rempli de talent Ces jeunes musiciens nous ont comblé de bonheur par leur talent et leur générosité. Nous y serons pour la prochaine saison.
