We had 2 kids 8 and 12 + 2 adults. For a rainy day it was fun, we were very pleased to meet an intern from Ontario who made our visit much easier to understand. All of the staff were very nice and accommodating, they took us and the kids out on the fjord as the tide went out to look for "critters". We had a great time and would recommend stopping in if you are passing by. The museum has an area where you can see the local marine life and touch them, a great experience for kids.

We were quite pleased with this museum and took our time to explore each exhibit. The section on local history was particularly interesting for us. There was an intern on staff from Ontario, and we really appreciated having a detailed explanation in English. The multimedia presentation was okay but they should make more use of the facial recognition technology. Overall, worth the time and money for us.

i went here with my school group last weekend. we were supposed to have 2 tour guides and have a guided tour of the museum. there were 2 staff but no tour. we went into this theatre that had great potential but was weird. the staff member started the film and left us. many of the seats did not work properly. the "aquarium" = one tank with some fish. there is a touch pool where you can touch the sea life that the students liked. then there were random pictures and exhibits that didn't make any sense with the name of the museum. our group wanted to go out into the water and get samples and go back and look in microscopes. we were told that the tide was coming in and it was not possible as well as they only had 3 staff. i booked the museum in oct/nov. 2013 and we went in may 2014. i don't know why it couldn't be arranged. the students were highly disappointed. we were supposed to stay for 1 1/2 hours and stayed for only about 45 minutes max. we will never return again unless that activity to go out into the water is included. it is not worth the money and time.

The main event of the museum is the 'unique multimedia experience.' Which was short on content and long on pointless low quality gimmicks. For example, the set has face tracking technology which serves no purpose. The aquarium is one tank and a touch pool. There was a special exhibit about matter where a bunch of the machines were broken, and was totally aimed at small kids. The last room was genealogical history of the early settlers. It was mildly informative, but hardly worth the price of admission. We couldn't believe that they were charging $15 pp for such a poor quality museum. Unfortunately the only entertainment we took away was amusement at how bad the whole thing is. Even if its raining, find another rainy day activity.

We had 2 very rainy days while visiting the Fjord area and just went exploring . We lucked up on this interesting little museum. The film explaining the origin of the Fjord was interesting - the headset was available in 5 languages. I wish they had given the instruction in both French and English before the film started. The hands-on exhibit was interesting even for adults. What we enjoyed the most was the history exhibit - very well done and fascinating information on the genealogy of the Fjord settlers. What they called an aquarium was small but nice. We would have liked to have been able to walk along the Fjord and read the markers but the rain prevented. This was a pleasant outing for a rainy afternoon.

We really didn't expect what the Museum had to offer however we were pleasantly surprised and it ended up being a nice couple couple hours. There's an exhibit where you can touch "Sea Creatures" like Sea Cucumbers, Starfish, snails, etc. There's also a Spacecraft simulation room where everyone sits down in a chair equipped with earphones and a personal video screen...we flew over the Fjord and then plunged into the Fjord to see what it also had under the surface...kinda cool. There are various rooms with local history explanations and another room which has different science experiments, microscopes, interactive games etc that you can participate in. Huge aquarium with local fish you can observe. I would recommend this for school trips. It would be very educational.

We really needed longer so we could see the other films but we really enjoyed the one we saw on the fjord,

Liked learning the geology of the area, seeing the anaimals and a fun video that pretends you are in SF vehicle diving into the water and going back in time.
