We just attended the 'Carrefour mondial de l'accordeon' in Montmagny this last weekend (labor day weekend) and what a treat it was! Of course you have to be a fan of accordion cause that's what the whole thing is about. This year was the 25th anniversary of the festival and I think the organizers made sure they would have the best players all weekend. Accordionists came from everywhere - Brazil, Argentina, France, UK, USA, Russia, Italy, etc. etc. and displayed their unique skills in a great and relax atmosphere. The organization of the whole thing is frankly first class, all the musicians seem to be very happy to be there, the little city of Montmagny with its small old town clearly values the event as all the merchants are nice and hospitable and obviously the music played was just remarkable. All styles of accordion were represented, the venues all well structured and organized, frankly it was just one of those unforgettable weekends!

Love to hear accordion proffessionals at their best? This is the place to be! Every year on Labor Day week-end, many Québec accordionists are all present at this event to share their beautiful melodies with audiences of all ages participating, singing or just listening. Furthermore, world champions are present at this event each year. Outside events, walking in the old Montmagny streets, accordion history at its best. Book early because hotel-motels get booked fairly early each year.

La ville offre un grand choix quant à l'hébergement, les restaurants et les activités à faire.La ville de Montmagny est fière d'être l'hôte de deux festivals populaires.-Le festival de l'Oie Blanche, au mois d'octobre &-Le Carrefour Mondial de l'Accordéon, le week-end de la fête du travail(septembre).C'est également à cette adresse qu'on peut obtenir les informations pour l'Isle-aux-Grues.
