We stayed at the Owl's Head Auberge (20 rooms) at the base of the Skill Hill, March 5 and 6 2015. We bought a package deal which included 2 days of skiing, breakfast, and dinner. The auberge is ranked as a 2 star accommodation, and we were not expecting a jacuzzi nor room service. We did not get either, and neither will you. BUT. At 94 dollars for the room (during peak skiing week - school break) we were only expecting a bed and bath. But, we got alot more than we bargained for. We got no lineup to check-in, for starters. We got a friendly woman who when we told her that our daughter decided to stay home, promptly adjusted our package. She printed our lift tickets and showed us the key to the room to store our equipment during our stay. I rented equipment which took a total of 3 minutes, and was the least stressful ski rental I have ever done. Now, I cannot guarantee the weather or snow conditions during your visit, but the conditions were some of the best either of us have ever seen, even though it's not the hill with the most latest and greatest sno-making equipment. The trails were absolutely fantastic, perfect for family skiing but even a section on the Lower Standard trail with the nicest soft moguls I have ever seen around Montreal. The VIEW from the top is breathtaking, as others have mentioned, and the 2 days were were there, the skies were clear and you could nearly see the chair lifts moving on Jay Peak. I had to stop and take photos every time we got to the top. As I said, I cannot control the weather, but if you want no-stress skiing on a very well-rounded hill, I cannot imagine anything better for the price. (50$/daily pass) We did not wait in line ONCE in 2 days. If you want to ski, and ski, and ski some more, this is the place. Our forfait included dinner, which, based on the price of our package, I surmised was going to be enough to nourish us and no more (chicken legs with rice). I cannot tell you how wrong I was. The dining room was much lovelier than we anticipated, and the Table d'hote dinner choices were much better than I expected (delicious cream of sweet potato/carrot soup, New York Strip with peppercorn sauce, Veal with artichokes, and Shrimp pasta, deserts and tea and coffee included). The service was excellent, friendly, and the wine selection was varied and well-priced. IMPRESSED. I admit, the place wasn't full, and we couldn't figure out why, as we sat there by the cathedral windows staring into the pine wilderness eating dinner for the same price as breakfast in a 5 star Hotel at the base of Mont Tremblant. (And YES we have been to several of them). The rooms are simple, what you need for sleeping; they are clean, smelling fresh although obviously dated (1970's), the bed was firm and the pillow was just my style (feathery, malleable, and not two feet high), and the balcony overlooking the hill was large, and the bathroom was very small and sort of european, but the hot water was HOT and the shower pressure was HARD and not one of these modern day shower heads where you have to keep moving around to feel water hitting you. It was honestly, the best shower I have ever had, if you just want hot water hitting you bang on. If you want a marble-laden rainforest showerhead, then this is not the place for you. The parking was free, there were NO extra charges on our bill when we checked out (aside from the huge tip we gave the lady who served us dinner), and, we were able to move our car right next to the auberge once everyone was gone, so no long walk to the car at the end. If you want a STRESS-FREE ski experience in gorgeous nature and surounded by friendly people, this is the place. And, as a bonus, if you want FREE HUGS, just tell the ladies at the desk that you are going to write them a lovely review on Trip Advisor. Bon Ski!

Our family loved Owl's Head! We came for the $20/ea Tues and Wed deal, but stayed because we loved it. Breathtaking views of the lake below, as well as the valley. The range and variety of trails was great, too. We never got bored and were always sad to see the days come to an end. We range from advanced beginner/low intermediate to double black diamond...and there were many trails to satisfy each of us. My young daughters loved going to the summit, and also doing the jumps on Panorama. Staff were friendly, and the assortment and quality of the food in the lodge was great, too. In all, a great resort for the family and those looking for a laid-back place to ski with amazing trails. And if you miss glitzy, Jay Peak is close by, too. (But we prefer Owl's Head...)

We have been returning to Owl's Head annually for over twenty years. We have enjoyed skiing there with our children and now our grand children. There is nothing like being slope side with ski in and out accommodation. Our return status speaks to our love of this mountain for family and hospitality.

Owl's Head is a nice mountain with good trails but the infrastructure is old and there are not many snowmaking machines.

Owl's Head has over 1600 ft. of vertical and some trails with an awesome view of Lake Memphemagog and nearby Jay Peak in Vermont. $20 Tuesday and Wednesday lift tickets make this an awesome bargain. Blues from the summit ride like blacks in some areas so this resort can keep the intermediate.advanced skiier happy for two days. Eight lifts, four of them quads, summit chair reasonably speedy.

You will love this little known ski hill in the eastern townships of Quebec. The high speed chair offers a big variety of terrain from beginner to expert. We ski Jay, we Ski Orford and we LOVE this place!

The quintessential ski hill. NO 6 pack lifts dashing crowds up the hill here. Just good old fashioned ski hill. Excellent skiing, great snow, good pitch and super view. An excellent hill for all levels. reasonable price. Lessons, ski shop/rentals and restaurant super. AND 6 miles to the USA border. 4 hrs to Boston. 6-7 hrs to Toronto. 1/2 hr from Magog, 20 min to Mansonville, 136 km from Montreal. Gorgeous view of Lake Memphremagog from many runs.

My buddies and I recently visited Owl's Head during our recent ski trip to the Eastern Townships.Spring skiing for the end of March was fantastic with February-like conditions. To top things off we had 8cm of snow on the day that we were there.Due to their limited acreage, would recommend that you ski only for a day before moving on. The lift tickets are more than reasonable and you get amazing vistas from the top of the hill. Make sure that you try their chili!

The wife and I booked tickets here thru Liftopia, and wound up having a great time for ~$25 each.... yes, $25 for a good ski area!! Even better, on Tues/Wed they offer $20 tickets at the mountain. The mountain is not huge, but has enough trails to keep most skiers interested for an entire day. Just enough 'off piste' opportunities to entertain, and certainly not any where you can wind up lost in the willy-wags, like at many of the larger nearby areas. The layout can take you from the summit to the bottom, past the main lodge, by bearing right the whole way down, and makes for a nice long ride. We went on a Monday, and lift-lines were non-existent, making a multiple run day easy to accomplish. Add in the fact that the other patrons, and employees, were friendly and unpretentious, and it makes for a great day.The views from the top, of Lake Memphremagog and the surrounding areas, is worth the price of admission all by itself. The cafe was a bit older, but the food was sufficient for us. The bar was quiet (it was Monday), but had a decent selection of brews, although the prices could have been a little cheaper. Not that you feel ripped-off, but $7+ for a beer is a little pricey. All in all, if we are in the area again, we would definitely stop back in.

I went here with a group for snowboarding. The weather was not very good, but we have at least the morning to enjoy this place. Conditions of snow was not that good but i believe that when it's all good, snow and weather, we can have a great time here ! There is different kind of slopes, many things to do in backcountry i guess, for a ski resort like that, it's good. I want to go back with good conditions !
