There is a trail around the lake. It is beautiful and has picnic tables on once side of the lake., along with a couple of sandy beaches. It is a few miles from Harrison Hot Springs but worth the detour to see this.

Wanted to find out what the lake looked like, the provincial park is lovely. Lots of privacy, lots of trees and a very nice lake. Fishing is good and there were not too many people. EArly season so the actual campsite was closed, but we spent the afternoon exploring on foot.

Yes a nice get away spot. Not much there but a nice lake experience. Campground was OK = quite far to the bathrooms . could use more picnik tables. Wasn't funny at the time but we had a bear roam into our campground in the middle of the nite. Pretty scary until a raccoon who had been snacking on our spits ran him off. Funny looking back - not then

We drove here just to see it. There is a boat launch. It was very quiet - no one there but us. I suppose it is busier in the summer.

I have been here camping with my family and we have always had a good time. The lake is on the smaller side so its easier for a parent to watch their children and give them a feel of independency. It is a favourite activity for us all to float across the lake to the other side for an adventure, takes about 20 to 30 mins. A parent can watch from beach and see kids get there safely. The camp spots are a little too close for comfort, I suggest you take a good look a camp site maps when reserving your spots if you like more privacy. All in all a good family site. NO NOISE after 11. That was a hard one for us as 5 adults were trying to play card games after getting kids down. Yes we were laughing and had a radio on low, we turned that off as told by park security, but then we were told 2x's more not to be noisy, thats hard when all we were doing was laughing.

We found this little jewel while out exploring and cannot wait to bring our children. It's the PERFECT family camping trip. Great for Kayaking out to the little islands, lots of private coves and beaches along the shore. Also just a few minutes out of Harrison Hot Springs so you can make day trips into town to enjoy the "city" life and local flavor. GREAT PLACE! Will definitely come back for a camping trip.

We swam in Hicks Lake in September. The lake was clean, clear and surprisingly warm. Blue skies and some hot rocks to sunbath on made for a perfect afternoon.

The drive is a bit topsy-turvy getting there but it's worth the motion sickness - just take your Gravol before you go! We found a little beach with a rocky shelf going down into the water and had an amazing day. The rock went into the water like a dinosaur's toes - I told them we were sitting on the fossil of a dinosaur's leg! The water is quite clear which is good as there are rocks that you have to avoid but it's a great place to go for young and old. You can rent paddle boards of all types depending on your level of skill, canoes, kayaks or paddle boats - great fun and decently priced! The scenery alone is worth the trip!

Love the campground. There is water and outhouses just a short walk away from most spots. The lake is gorgeous. It's nice just to lounge and enjoy the scenery or dive in for a swim.

Walked the 6 km loop round Hicks Lake. Easy to moderate. 40% on forest walk tight to lake, 40% on logging road close to lake but higher with 3" minus rock surface (the large gravel would have been hard walking for our Lab but for the packed areas where the truck tires were) and 20% on smooth dirt road near lake. Could be biked but bring tire repair gear for the 3" minus gravel section. Nice to find a closed loop trail! Did not stay in the park but the washrooms (pit latrines) were well kept and had hand sanitizer. Camp sites looked great (not serviced). Scout your site because many had thru forest access to secluded rock suntan ledge a few feet above the water. Free access for the day visitor.
