The last time I was in Salmon Arm I had seen the sign for Margaret Falls, but didn't have enough time so i vowed that next time I would go. When my boyfriend and I stopped over in Salmon Arm for a few nights I begged him to go with me. Begrudgingly he accepted with all the enthusiasm of a dog going to the vet. When we got there, there was plenty of free parking (it's a provincial park) and a well marked sign before the path leading to the trail. From the beginning of the trail I was in awe, even my boyfriend was enjoying the view. We were surrounded in a canopy of fallen trees covered in ferns and surrounded on both sides by majestic rock walls. The trail itself has minimal incline and is well maintained, with a little chain gate to keep people from trampling nature. The trail follows a beautiful, clear stream, sometimes cutting across it on little wooden bridges, all the way up to the majestic Margaret Falls. Apparently the hike normally loops around from there, but there had been a rock slide or something and the trail was closed there. The hike itself is easy enough for older folk or very young children and is a welcome shaded respute on a hot day. My boyfriend and I were so glad we went. I highly recommend if you want a great view of the lake as well to walk a minute down the road where there's a more adventurous and steep trail leading to a viewing platform that looks like it would also connect up to the Margaret Falls hike. I will definitely return!

Almost like being on Vancouver Island. Huge cedars and ferns, short walk in to a great waterfall. There is also another trail that goes around the falls, check it out too. About 3 kms, you climb up and at one point can catch a glimpse of the falls from above it. Saw an ospry nest on the top of a dead tree from eye level. Ignore the bridge closed sign, just be careful. The boards are rotting, but if you walk over where the beams are below you'll be fine. Don't walk on the rotten boards or you might get an unexpected swim.

A very beautiful waterfall set within a forest, which is just off the side of the road. The hike is very easy and the path is laid out for anyone to walk to. We were there when there was a landslide so much of the path at the end was blocked so it was a one-way hike, but still worthwhile. The landscape is wonderful for photos, with trees laid strewn across the river and streams, and there are many small bridges to cross, suitable for children and all ages.

Have passed by the sign to these falls many times but this time we stopped. So glad we did! It is a nice easy walk in with beautiful foliage and stream and a gorgeous waterfall at the end. There is even a cave behind the falls we seen some trying to get in and out of. Pretty cool. Great for photo ops. Definitely recommend for all ages!

It's not a long or strenuous walk but is very beautiful and fun! At the end is a breathtaking treasure.

This time the waterfalls are spectacular due to the large amount of melting snow. The short hike to the falls is really nice,
