We stayed two nights and did the full day power rafting trip - it was fantastic. We stayed in the tents which are wood frame buildings with canvas tents over top. No power, just a gas lantern. Great decorating touches with each cabin having a different antique theme. The beds were cozy with lovely feather duvets to keep you warm. The train runs on the tracks just below the resort and you hear it day and night. We were so tired from our adventures that the trains did not keep us awake - you just incorporate them into your dreams. It was part of the atmosphere! The food was also excellent. We had great big breakfasts and a really good Salmon dinner - mmmmm.Willis, Mary, Elliot, Terry and Jo - to name a few, are an excellent part of their team and really made our ladies group weekend amazing.

This was or first time, so we did a half day trip. It was so much fun, we're planning to stay in a wigwam at the resort next year & do a full day of power rafting. The only disappointment was that we were there sept 1 & the restaurant had closed for the season on Aug 31.

It was my first time going rafting when I went with Kumsheen and I had a great time. Our guide, Mary, helped us paddle the Thompson and gave us some local history and biology lessons. I really enjoyed this trip and would absolutely go again. Next time I'll do the full-day!

Felt very safe in the hands of our guide, Mary. Hit some big waves in the rapids and enjoyed the exhilarating feel of getting splashed directly in the face during my turn at the front of the raft. Am planning another trip next year with my daughters, we might just try the full day trip.

Had a great first rafting trip. Our guide Mary took us through the Devil's Gorge and had us all taking a spot in the front of the raft for a good face splashing. :) The wind was up and chilly, but thanks to Mary's offer of a wetsuit we stayed pretty warm. I definitely want to try this again, maybe even a full day trip.

We, a group of middle-aged (mid 40s to 70s) dragon-boaters and a couple of spouses arrived on the September long weekend excited to paddle the mighty Thompson. Some of us had paddled white waters before. For some it was a first time, and one in our party was a cautious non-swimmer. We were very well equipped with wetsuits, helmets and rain jackets – excitedly embarked on our adventure. After a fabulous morning of rapids, calmer waters and even a swim, we filled our bellies with a delicious lunch and basked in the warm sun. We excitedly took turns riding up front while the rest paddled. After lunch we really hit the white water! What a blast! Then, we met “the epic wave". We feel pretty lucky to say we are among the very few who actually flip their raft (some of our team feel this was a terrific “value added” to our day). Our guide Braden and the other guides were incredibly professional and fast acting. Braden was first rate the whole way -- from start to finish. Clearly the entire team at Kumsheen is very well trained -- strong in body and character. Other rafts were always nearby, and all the guides very efficiently worked as a team to ensure everyone on (and in!) the water that day had an excellent experience.Thank you for keeping us safe, calm and oh so excited to try it all again! Oh, and thanks for arranging for that lovely bear family to drop by and wave to us from the riverbank. That was ever so thoughtful of you.The lunch you provided was spectacular, the campsites and wash house were very clean, and the meal at the Cutting Board restaurant was especially delicious as we gathered to relive our adventure. We highly highly recommend everyone at Kumsheen.Paddles up!Signed, the Dr'Agonize Dragonboat team. Salmon Arm, BC

Wow, this is definitely recommended. It's value for money and never a dull moment, even hanging on to the side of the boat when going through the tame rapids. I can't recommend this trip enough and wish we could do it again but a bit difficult in the UK. If you do go for it, do the day raft as the morning is great fun and builds you up for the afternoon. The meal at lunchtime was also good and you certainly won't go hungry with the amount of food on offer. They rotate people around the boat so you always get the chance to be at the front .... If you want to that is. Absolutely brilliant day, especially staying overnight in the teepees and having a lovely meal in the restaurant. Only downside is the number of trains passing in the night as the track is close to the site but the answer to that is have a drink .... Or two.

Back in November I won a trip for 2 to the Kumsheen for my husband and I! The trip included a full day rafting trip with lunch, dinner, a night in a cabin and breakfast. So I booked our trip for Aug 27th! The full day rafting trip was amazing, the first half was relaxing with a few great rapids, went for a swim, the guide, Sam, was amazing she knew so much information and told great stories about each rapid and made our trip that much better! The restaurant was great, all the staff were so helpful, and always had a smile! Cannot wait to plan our next adventure with them next year...Hells Gate!!

All was smooth. My daughter and I did the half day and it was a blast. Great service from the guides (thanks Mary) and a great time on the river. Good crew. Fun rapids and bonus of jumping in river and floating with the boat. Very safe and lots of laughs and awesome scenery! Will be back for sure.

When I made our reservations in April for a white water rafting weekend, I was told that I was in for a real treat. This was a birthday present for my sweetie, and it could not have been better; a real treat it was. From the from desk staff that have that perpetual smile, friendly, courteous, professional attitude, to the teepee that was an enjoyable unique experience unto itself. The restaurant, with a wonderful menu and friendly, courteous staff who provided me with a terrific birthday cake as it was my birthday while we were there, to the hot tub that provided the opportunity to warm our chilled bones after a day on the river. Chris, our guide, was simply terrific. A keen sense of humour and quick wit, a vast knowledge of the history and geographical aspects of the area, combined with a professional awareness of his surrounding, the other craft in his command, and the conditions(s) of those in his raft combined to make us both feel welcomed and secure for the two days we were with him. Chris said it was the owners that taught and expected such a friendly, professional atmosphere from all their staff. Well done, they have succeeded in their quest as we met none that didn't meet this criteria.
