Gorgeous views and wild flowers. Lots of walks and trekking. Definitely worth a visit!!! The staff who watch over the park are also very helpful and informative.

Beautiful drive up the mountain with amazing views of the city and river at every bend, what else could you ask for? But the meadows full of wildflowers in full bloom leave you wanting to stay "in the sky"!

Even in mid July we could only drive as far as the first carpark as there was still 3m of snow higher up the mountain. We stopped at various viewpoints along the way and got beautiful panoramic views to the mountains and Revelstoke below. We walked around to Balsam Lake which is pretty with the trees reflected off the water. There was still quite a lot of snow on the ground (but it wasn't cold at all) so we were glad we had waterproof shoes on. There's nowhere to buy food or drinks so make sure you take anything you need with you. The National Park entrance fee you pay will cover you for any others you enter that day as well.

I was out doing the Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper and Hyder Alaska road trip. I also covered Yoho to Revelstoke. I was doing this over 2 weeks plus from Spokane, Wa. in a rental car. The fee is included as part of the Natl Park daily fee that I had already paid. Otherwise I think it is about $10 a person. The drive up from the gate is approx a bit over a half hour to a parking lot about a mile short of the summit where you can transfer free to a shuttle to take you the summit or walk the mile. The view from the top is fabulous on a fairly clear day, as you get a 360 degree at approx 6600 ft in elevation or 2000 meters. With all the colors of wildflowers and the views, it was somewhat an unexpected delight. The route is tree lined so no real drop offs that are too scary for most.I did not feel the need to take a gondola trip at Banff/Jasper so I guessed that saved me some money. This was the only attraction I saw at Revelstoke but well worth the experience. I happened to start at the bottom on a somewhat overcast/foggy day and broke into clear sky right below the summit, so I had that view of Fog below me but with the summits of mountains 50 to 100 miles away.

At first I was a bit scared to drive up there. The lady in the visitor center said it is a really narrow road, then they warn you with "road with sharp turns, last option to turn around" kind of signs. It wasn't that bad after all. We enjoyed the drive up. Nice little hikes on top and breathtaking views of the mountains around. Would definitely recommmend it when being in Revelstoke.

This is a 25 kilometer drive from the city of Revelstoke, but well worth it. It usually only open all the way from Mid July as there is still snow on the road. Once the snow is gone and you can drive up to the parking lot, you can take a shuttle the last kilometer, or hike up to the summit. Once at the summit, there is a leasurely walk around the summit with various points of interest. In the right week (it varies year to year), the wild flowers are in bloom, usually somewhere from the last week of July to the 1st week of August. There is an old fire watch tower here, that has been restored. You can walk around it, but cannot go in it.From the summit, you can see down Revelstoke lake towards the Mica Dam. You can see the arrow lakes and mount begbie. You can see Eagle pass, and marvel at how narrow of a pass it is!This is also the base for several other longer hikes, if you are into long hikes. Check with parks Canada for more information on the other hikes. Also, it is a national park, so they expect you to have a park pass, or they will sell you one at the booth at the start of the road. This mountain has the best views in all of Revelstoke.

We travelled all through Jasper, Banff, Yoho and Revelstoke, and I have to say this was at the top of the list of things we saw and did!Take a lunch and allow lots of time because it's well worth it. The stops along the road were breathtaking. Be sure to take the shuttle to the top!

Need to take your time driving otherwise you could harm some rare lizards or other animals, as the road is narrow and has many hairpin turns. Varying eco systems as you ascend the 1400m with great views of the valley. Beautiful views and a resident artist at the Sub-Alpine Summit.

This was a wonderful drive on bends, turns, and switchbacks for about an hour - one of the longest roads I've ever been on. We got to the top, parked the car, and caught a shuttle to the summit. The views were magnificent. The walk down was faster than waiting for the return shuttle. Worth the stop.

If you are looking to quickly get out to do some hiking keep in mind the drive to the top is 24 km. of good (except for the potholes!) but winding road so allow time for that. Once there you take a 1 km shuttle up to the top with a choice of many different trails to hike (short durations and longer). Fee to enter the park. August is apparently really great with the wildflowers but there were still some in early September.
