We got to the village after the last guided tour had left, but were advised that we were welcome to view the museum and the outside of the buildings. A tour would have definitely helped us understand more about the village, but it was nice to be able to walk around, and there is a great view of the Skeena river and the mountains beyond from the edge of the village.

Ksan is on a site by the river and has several buildings. The Museum is open to all but the guided tour is recommended in order to see inside the other buildings and get insight into the traditions of the Gitsan. The collection of masks and costumes for the dance troupe is a real treasure. This was the third visit but the first tour. I'm glad we did it.
