Nature's creations are all spiritual experiences to me. This is where my higher power spends the summer. HP spends the winters in Canyon de Chelly, AZ. Two of the most beautiful spots in the world. It is a long hike to the dock but well worth it in itself. This inland fjord had vertical walls of rock, water falls and lots of wind. In the middle of summer with the wind blowing across the pond I darn near froze. I have been here several times and wouldn't miss it for the world. And if you have never been to Newfoundland, try to plan a visit with lots of whale watching boat tours.

We did the entire western Brook experience. We hiked the trail searching for moose however we weren't able to find any, the boat tour through the channel is absolutely breathtaking! Tall cliffs, foliage galore, small animals. Best of all is spotting out the faces in the cliff. There are several of them. It was a great day trip. The fish truck down the road was a great was to end our day

Did this boat tour in Aug 2014. Very informative and scenery was breathtaking. A must do while in Gros Morne.

It was a drizzly day for us, and the walk to the boat is a nice one, but takes a good 30-45 minutes at a steady pace. We seen 2 moose on our walk. The boat is crowded, so I agree with a previous reviewer, try to get the very back seat or front early, as you will most definitely have the other traveller's in your photos. We would've loved to do the 5-day trek, but did not plan it into our itinerary. We were only exploring the north west of NFLD in 7 days, but would definitely love to go back and do the trek. The guides are very knowledgeable and provided some comedic relief throughout the tour. We would definitely encourage anyone visiting Gros Morne to Check out Western Brook Pond.

I was there myself, past the test for map skills. I got the permit to hike 5 days from the end of the boat tour.. It wasn't easy, but the view from the top of thefirst cliff is amazing.. the best of whole national park.. the boat tour was fun and knowledgable.. and of course with amazing view also.. the only thing is it's much easier for you to have your car to go there and you need to WALK a while to get to the boat.. go there 1 hour plus before your departure time so you can have enough time to walk to the boat and enjoy the trail..

The scenery was wonderful, the narration by the guide was excellent. The boats are crowded so if you want to do some photography try to get a good spot early.

Such a great tour. Enjoyed the short walk to the boat and once we arrive at the dock we had some time to explore. On the boat tour we saw moose crossing the lake. One of the highlights of our trip.

This is a stunningly beautiful place. A gale was coming up as we arrived, so the boat tour was cancelled half-way through. Our money was refunded, but we could not come back again.

This attraction is a must see, it is the iconic view of western Newfoundland found on all their advertising. While the view from the boat is not the one you see the picture of, it is no less spectacular and in many respects more. The walk in to the boat is pretty easy for an able bodied person, took us about 40 mins without rushing. The boats are all in good shape and appear well maintained, the crew and guides are competent and very approachable. Lots of information here on the geology of the area, for those that care about the natural world it is worth the visit for that alone. Spectacular views are the bonus.

We made reservations for the Western Brook Pond boat cruise for a day when the wind and the rain made the tour impossible. Since we had extra time, we re-booked for the following day. It was still rather windy, but the captain decided to make the tour possible. He advised us about the choppy water and anyone not wanting to go was given their money back. It was a fantastic cruise! The water was a bit choppy, but nothing that bothered anyone who went. The captain and tour guides were very knowledgeable. So not only do you have the vast beauty of the fjords, but you also learn a lot about the area from someone who is proud of their homeland park. They also explained why we had a gentleman jump out at the halfway point - he was beginning a 4 day hike for experienced hikers. We also saw a moose on this trip! The walk from the parking lot to the tour takes about 30 - 45 minutes, but is an easy walk through forest and peat bogs. The flora makes the walk very worthwhile on its own merit. The restaurant at the tour site serves delicious soup and sandwiches. If you are near this part of the island, this is definitely on your "must do" list. And, as we learned, don't hesitate if the day is a bit rainy and foggy (there is a covered indoor area on the boat) - it just adds to the charm!
