We attended the Garrick Theatre for a music performance. We loved the historic feel of the theatre, the cleanliness, the comfortable seating (wide aisles, spacing, leg room and seating) the intimacy of the setting. We went to the bar and heard another performer after the theatre performance. We plan to visit Bonavista again in the future and will check out the Garrick again and I have already recommended it to several people.

This theatre is amazing! Fantastic comfortable facility, lovingly restored. Great bookings for movies, concerts and incredible after-parties in the Annex too. Must do experience for visitors to Bonavista area.

The Garrick Theatre is a little hidden gem! It can show movies or it also has a stage for live shows. It was our first time there and we were fortunate enough that the ABBA show was playing. It has a great bar attached which is modern and nice and super friendly service. It was very charming and I would definitely try and go back!

We saw The Fortunate Ones play in this delightful theatre in Bonavista. The staff was helpful, the sound was good and the building itself was beautiful. Bonavista is lucky to have such a venue.

We attended a performance here called Abbey Road...a tribute to The Beatles. It was a fantastic performance. The theatre had wonderful acoustics. The seats are comfortable and the staff friendly. It is so nice to see a revived theatre doing so well. We will definitely be back.

We have been going to the Garrick for years now. It is one of the nicest theatres I have ever been in! Whether it's for a concert or a movie the sound quality and comfort cannot be beat. The popcorn is also fantastic! Every town should be lucky enough to have a venue like the Garrick.

A big surprise in such a remote location. Amazing shows held regularly through the summer season with excellent audience participation! I would recommend to any visitor. We would have loved to see some of the other shows in the 2014 season. Comfortable seats, good stage set and good bar.

Great atmosphere and excellent staff! I have been to four movies here thus far and have had consistently great customer service. They have up to date movies playing which is another bonus!

I've visited Bonavista three times, and I've made it a point to visit the Garrick Theatre every time. I really wish I could be here every Saturday to see the shows. They host some of the best talent in the province. I've been to see smaller bands that play Pogues covers and wildly fun and interactive folk songs that you can join in with, and I've also been to shows that don't generally cater to my genre interests (e.g. Walsh Family Band) but yet were so entertaining and talented that I still enjoyed the experience very much. I think I partially enjoyed the audience's reactions more than anything; they're very involved.I will gladly venture to say that the theatre itself is on par with any small theatre in any major city in Canada. What a pleasant surprise. It's no wonder that so many local artists consider it an honour to perform here. The first time I came to the Garrick, I went to a smaller, laid-back show in an adjoining room (the lounge?) where we had drinks, stomped our feet and clapped our hands to great Newfoundland music. It has a strange mix of upscale and laidback, of worldclass design yet imbued with local charm and hometown sensibilities. Great taste of Newfoundland found here. Just a hint: Take advantage of the student discount! Makes a difference!

Aside from the beautiful architecture of this building, the different forms of entertainment offered through out the year is incredible. I'm originally an Ontarian, born and bred of Scottish stock, Newfoundland is in my wife's blood, but since we've been living here I've fallen absolutely head over heels for the quality, and the styles of the local musicians and singers it is incredible and during the year the Garrick highlights these people in different concerts and fund raisers. During the summer the Summer Music series on Saturday evenings brings the finest bands from the island. It is also a fine movie theatre with full Dolby digital audio. For the summer tourist, don't miss the Summer Music Series.
