Prince Edward Battery is located within Victoria Park in southern Charlottetown. The actual area of the battery is fairly small, but it's still worth a stop.You can view the stone magazine where ammunition was kept, as well as a row of cannon facing the harbor. The most interesting thing about it is walking along the battery, imagining the strategic value the area had for defending the harbor. There's a number of stations around the area with a great deal of historical information. It's all very interesting.In addition to the battery, you have the rest of Victoria Park, which is quite nice. From the battery, you have absolutely beautiful views of Charlottetown Harbor and the city of Charlottetown itself. As an added bonus, there's a good deal of free parking sprinkled around the park.The Prince Edward Battery is just a very short trip out of the heart of Charlottetown, and it's a trip well worth making.

Prince Edward Battery seems to either be part of, or certainly adjacent to Victoria Park, Charlottetown, PEI. There are many "stations" around with placards describing how the battery was built, how it was manned, who ran it and when, and how the coastal defenses worked. Very interesting and certainly worth a visit, if only to see the old cannons. Clean and well tended.

We stopped here for the view primarily and then began to read each of the well designed information boards on the platform. You can learn a lot about Canadian History in a very short period of time. The view is wonderful of Victoria Park as well as the bay and two lighthouses. A Kiwanis building is also located at this entrance and offers some nice choices. this is a great starting or ending point for a visit to Victoria Park. Bring the kids and let them ride the canons.

Lots of fun to walk to and the views were divine. Highly recommend to people who love history and families.

canyon and plaques. interesting and some great pictures. Gorgeous walk along the boardwalk to get here. I was blessed with beautiful weather

This park provides some good insight to Canadian history and the bay provides a relaxing and calming feeling to travelers. The cannons provide some good photo opportunities. You can stay for just a few minutes to take some pictures or a few hours to relax.

We witnessed the 21 gun salute on Canada Day. All shot from number 1 gun!! 21 times on the command of "number one gun fire!" This was followed by the fireworks. A big bang day all in all. In the best weather as well.

Located on the tip of Victoria Park, in downtown Charlottetown. Not a whole lot there, other than the old cannons and small barracks, but still neat to check out while exploring the area.The views of the harbour are magnificent from this vantage point, especially in the evenings for the sunset.We were here on Canada Day, and must say that the fireworks display was amazing, even better than in some other large Canadian cities!

Great harbourside park and boardwalk area. Take the time and read all the historical signage. Great stories and a lot more history there than even the locals know.
