My wife is an animal fanatic and we have been watching the Hope for Wildlife series on TV for years. When I was planning a trip to the Maritimes, my wife begged me to take her there.Seeing as it is only a short drive (45 minutes) from Halifax, I was able to oblige her.Not only did we have a great morning on a private tour of the property and all the rescued animals, Hope herself showed up and talked with us for awhile. My wife was in heaven. Now she can't wait to go back there.

I have never visited, and I only live a short distance away, but a few years ago I had a beautiful fox come to stay he was tame and very well kept for a wild animal, I didn't want to feed him as winter was coming and I did not want him to rely on us for food, I called Hope and she said from the description I gave her he sounded like Gismo, a Fox she had rescued and released after trauma in his young life. After a few days he moved on to who knows where. but this was my brief encounter with what Hope and her Helpers stand for.

I visited Hope For Wildlife along with my daughter in law and 7 year old grand daughter and was very impressed with the care provided to the wild life under there care. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable regarding all the wildlife visitors and permanent residents at HFW.The facilities are well maintained and planned for the intended purpose of caring for injured wildlife. There is an ever changing variety of wildlife under the care of HFW as well as some permanent residents. There is a small gift shop but no food services for visitors that I am aware of although they do cater to special events such as birthday parties.Admission is free but donations are both welcome and necessary to carry on there important work.A 2 hour visit is a minimum and the drive to Seaforth can be an interesting scenic loop from Halifax.

Our first visit to Hope for Wildlife was a very rewarding experience. We along with thousands of other folks flocked to the site for the annual open house and it was definitely time well spent. Having seen the show on television and being fascinated by what they do to preserve and save the wildlife, it was was such a great experience to see the animals up close and to speak to the various staff and volunteers. If you are in the area and have an interest in wildlife preservation then visiting Hope for Wildlife should be a must do on your interest list. Check out their web page as I believe they offer daily tours of the facility.

What a beautiful place that is, it's like heaven on earth, the volunteers are very friendly, and knowledgable. We had the most beautiful tour of the place, my little 5 year old girl wanted to meet Hope because it's her favorite show. Hope was so wonderful, She was patient, and took time to talk to my daughter and take a picture with her, She is everything We see on TV and more.Highly recommend to anyone who loves the show and the well being of wild animals. I was a great donation for a great cause.Thank you Hope and your friendly volunteers!

The recently introduced opportunity to visit Hope For Wildlife daily between 1-4 is an excellent chance to find out more about what they are doing and the animals in their care. We were taken on a tour as soon as we arrived, and our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Interesting for both adults and children.

I had watched the TV show for a few years, and always thought it would be nice to see it in person. The staff and volunteers were absolutely wonderful, and they really loved what they were doing. The group had stopped near Hope's home and she popped out to meet everyone. Completely down to earth people with hearts of gold... Its run on donations and sales from the gift shop, so don't be shy to help keep the dream alive!!

This facility cares for abandoned and ill animals, with the aim, when possible, to return them to the wild. This does mean that some of the animals can not be visited, but that is a price certainly worth paying. Regardless, there is plenty to see on a tour, guided by knowledgeable volunteers. All is done by donation, but once you see what good it does, I defy you not to dig deep.
