Neys is a really nice park. The beach is very wide and the sand is wonderful. There is plenty of beachfront to explore. We have two children, ages 1 and 5. Both our kids had a great time exploring the beach and playing in the water. Mom and Dad got a very relaxing few days out of the trip as well. Very nice park.

My family has been coming to Neys since the 1980's starting with a tent trailer, van to motorhome. We have stayed in Sections 2,3 and now only 1. Section 4 we usually bike around. Love the beach great for bocce ball, building sand castles, and swimming (yes this is cold Lake Superior) but it has a shallow sandy bottom with clear water and great waves for a boogie board. When the sun is shinning it is the best. When the cold lake produces fog it can be dismail, that is when you go to Marathon (30mins east) to shop at the mall and eat at A&W. There is only a couple of walking trails (if you go to the outlook make sure it is dry), We use to pick blueberries for pancakes. Now we can be fined if we pick them so I guess they want the black bears back in the park. They have two lockable steel garbage containers. We have two dogs that need to be leashed and picked up after them. They are NOT allowed on the beach between the Prisoner's Cove and the start of Section 2. At night the sky is so vast great for watching the stars. Because of the wind it helps to muffle out the excess noise. Neys is like a picture postcard having little squirrels and rabbits running around. Last year we saw a wedding at the Cove. This is a lazy days place with an abundance of history. (WW2 german prisoners camp 100 and Japanese internment station) I wish I could keep quiet about this hidden gem but I can't as this place is just that good. Shhh it should be a secret. Wishing for the summer to be here.

If you have a sense of history you will love camping at Neys, one of Canada's world war 2 concentration camps. You'll find it on the Trans Canada Highway about 20 kms west of Marathon. Pebbly beaches clean campsites, clear Lake Superior water, Near by convenience store. Negative: occasional trains at night.

This is one of my favorite spots for camping. Terrific beach surrounded by high hills and littered with driftwood. Nice surf from Lake Superior. Fabulous sunsets. Reminds me of Tofino. To the person who gave it a poor review because you can't burn driftwood in your firepit....DUH! The driftwood on the beach is part of the park experience, for everyone to enjoy. Not just for people who want to burn it.
