Finally got out to Urban Surf to give stand up paddling a try. The owners, Chris and Danielle are very approachable and accomodating. They give you a mini lesson and help you get on the board. Being a curvier but healthy person, I was hesitant to try this out. They assured me they have all ages, sizes, and heights, fitness levels come out for rentals. You can rent the board out or take a class. The first time I took a class with Jake, he was patient and checked on everyone to make sure they were doing ok. I fell in the water about 10 times due to my bad balance!! I have rented a board at least 4 more times over the summer and had improved just as the season was coming to an end. This is something you can do solo, with friends, family, or groups...its all ages as well. As an added bonus, there is a kickass smoothie stand there as well!

This was a gift for my birthday, I was hesitant as I had a bad snowboarding experience and wasn't sure if this would be similar. The people there were great very welcoming and helpful. I was brought to where the pre lesson started I was introduced to Jake. He was excellent he kept things simple and there was no pressure to get going. I Loved it!!! What an awesome experience, if you have thought about trying this do it! Yes I fell off 3 times but it was pretty easy to get back on and Jake walked me through it and gave me some tips as well. When we returned he invited my 7 year old son to try it. My son is very shy but he did try and Jake took him on his board and I could not believe that my son was paddle boarding in about 2 minutes of getting on the board. I have 4 more rentals and can not wait to go back and go out again. Jake you are a great instructor, thanks again.
