Sharbot is a very nice lake in the "Land of Lakes Region" of eastern Ontario. It has quite large sites but the beach is actually on the smaller Black Lake and is only average. Good shopping in the nearby village of the same name. Like all Ontario Provincial parks, there is more demand than supple, so reserve a site. Note that there is poison ivy in the park so keep an eye on where you trek.

My friends and I loved our experience with this park. It was very quiet, clean and great for swimming and hiking. We were very impressed with how clean their comfort stations were. They cleaned it at least three times a day. The beach was very small but very clean and family friendly. We also got really lucky with our campsites. We picked walk in campsites and luckily were big enough for us and didn't seem like we were sharing it with our neighbors. The other campsites looked like they had very little privacy. The only downsides with the park is that the mosquitoes get really bad at night and that the park patrols will look for any excuse to fine you. so just be prepared for that. otherwise it was an excellent trip and we will definitely be going back next year.

We thought we would stop in here for a few nights on our way to Picton. The park is very clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly, helpful, and followed up with a recommendation we had. (Very attentive) The park is great for biking (even though some of the hills were extremely steep but very fun) After touring the park there are only a handful of sites that are big. Thankfully we only have an 18 foot trailer so we were able to manage. They need to put better signage on the road so you know where you are going. The dump/fill station is a little tight to get around the corner. The park is also pretty close to the road so you can hear quite a bit of traffic. Overall it was an alright park but I will not be going back.

This campsite is right next tothe highway so make sure when booking you dont book the ones that are located there because there's truck and car sounds. The campsite is actually decent sized some are located higher above the water and walking distance from where you park your car. There's canoeing ,you can fish and a tiny spot that looks like a beach where you can go in the water. 30 min drive from grocery store& Canadian tires in Perth in case you need anything.

We just did our annual family reunion camp, this year, at Sharbot Lake Provincial Park. We booked well ahead and got two fantastic, drive in, 2 car sites, side by side. The camp staff was VERY friendly. The camp was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The south beach was amazing with clean, groomed sand and a variety of excellent swimming areas marked by ropes and floats. We enjoyed the Discovery Trail for hiking. The office/store had quality wood and ice at reasonable prices. We were in the tenting section campground (as far away from the highway as could be) which, although full on a long weekend, was quiet and very enjoyable. We looked at, but didn't use (no boat), the launch area- noting abundant docking. Sharbot Lake and Perth provided grocery stores (and any other shopping anyone could want): and various stands, along the highway,sold corn and blueberries- yummy! We are likely to use this venue again for our family gathering.

Went camping with a bunch of friends on campsites 97, 96, 94 & 92. These were the last sites available and now I know why. These sites are terrible due to the noise of the transport trucks at night. It felt like we were camping at an airport! We left early because of lack of sleep. Avoid any campsites located near highway.

Located about 30 minutes outside of Perth Ontario going southwest, Sharbot Lake Provincial Park is a nice place to camp. It is a smallish park and is a bit close to the highway, but it is very quiet during the week and a good place to relax. Try to grab a site by the lake where you are bound to hear the call of the loons that call the lake home. It is a great place for a quick camping getaway.

The park is small and right next to a major hwy. so long as you're not camping right next to it and you have one of the premium water sites, you won't hear the traffic as much. The longer I was here, the park actually grew on me. The park itself is actually really well maintained and clean. The park staff was super friendly, and if your not into the whole wilderness experience such as bears you'll be happy to know they have none. The lake it sits on is called black lake and it's actually the perfect lake to canoe on. Still and clear waters make this a very special slice along the road.The park offers canoe rentals, and the closest 'good' grocery store is a 30 minute drive in Perth along with a Canadian Tire which is equips a lot of camping gear. We had to run out and get a new mattress because ours looked like it was torn.Aside from that there isn't a whole lot to see. We drove around the area and came across a cool pancake place called Wheelers which is about a 30/40 minute drive. The place was awesome and so worth the drive.I am hoping to return here in the fall to see the change in colours. Nice park.

This Provincial Park is small and since we were there on the Labour Day Weekend, it was very crowded. We only had a day pass and did not camp. We are Seniors and went there to hike the trails. I would not advise Seniors to try hiking in this park. The trails are steep with jagged rocks and tree stumps sticking up. We love to hike, but are wise enough to know our limitations re difficulty of trails. We did not see any information in the pamphlet about the terrain or the steepness of the two trails. We had to turn back on the longer trail rather than risk a fall or injury. For the younger set, this park has much to offer with gorgeous views of Sharbot Lake and the islands off shore. But,I would advise Seniors to stick to the more tranquil locations like Lemoines Point or Parrot Bay.

This small provincial park is located between two lakes and spans across two sides. We came here on a off holiday weekend in August, and booked campsite #86 a premium site, right off the lakeside. There's a bunch of them like this, some better than others. The park itself is small. There's one small hiking trail (about 1 hr) that leads you around the lake - it's okay, but bring some bug repellant for a stretch I was running away from flies. There's also a small mini ridge hike, but once you get to the top don't bother going further along the trail as it just stops at the edge of the cliff with nothing interesting. The park offers two small beaches with a blocked off swimming spot. You can rent canoes at reasonable rates ($36 for 12 hrs, $30 for 4 hours, $25 for 2 hours) and kayaks (single and double). You can go into Black Lake, and it's about a 1.5 hour roundabout - you might be able to catch sight of some turtlesThe campsite was lovely, and clean. Lots of space for 2 tents. It was unfortunate we were beside some obnoxious people, who over parked their cars (max 2 on the site, they had 3), and talked extremely loud after sunset (in the summertime that's about 10pm) and into midnight. They left their dogs unattended a lot (on the table and in the unlocked car) and got them barking throughout the evening. I think they went to play on the huge grassy lot. And they left their fire unattended a lot as well. There was another site (part of the same park) across the lake that was BLARING loud music (turned out they had a full speaker system on their site) - could be good or bad depending on your mood, but at least they quieted down around 6pm. I'm just saying all this to prove that there needs to be more frequent ranger patrols for the sake of other campers. But, when they were quiet, the park is very quiet. It's extremely peaceful. The facilities here were REALLY CLEAN. The cleanest I've seen in the comfort stations as the campsite. Very Very few bugs in the the shower and bathroom. It never smelled. The showers were normally clean, with hot water and good water pressure. They clean this at 1pm-2pm, not at peak times which is nice. They did have outhouses though, instead of the other half bathrooms i've seen at other sites.I would recommend this for a 2-3 day trip. There is a lot to explore in the area, but not necessarily in the park itself. If you want something with more activities and a longer stay, Bon Echo would be your best bet, not too far away.active
