This brewery has come a long way from the Hoppy days of past brew masters. Now with Brett at the helm, this brewery is pumping out some wonderful and high demand beers for locals and a bit in the LCBO's. The staff here is always friendly and it's a great stop between wineries especially for those in the group who just want a beer. With unique style, wonderful experiments tweaked to perfection, I'd recommend this as a stop for everyone near and far.Cheers!!P.S. Tasting fees are by donation, so please give generously for their charitable goals.

I am a huge fan of craft beers and the Barley Days Brewery is top of my list to visit. Staff is always so friendly and they have a nice selection of regular beers as well as seasonal offerings. I would love to see Barley Days Brewery brew a pumpkin ale as I know they would hit it out of the park! I regularly make the 30 minute drive to the nearest LCBO that carries their beers. Keep up the great work!

Went with friends to Barley Days Brewery as they are big fans of craft beer / microbrews. What a treat! It's a small place, but the staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable about not only their own beer, but beer making in general. I am not much of a beer drinker (that may change after this visit!) so it was fun to learn about the ingredients and the different types of beer they brew. The staff are great at discovering your own personal tastes and recommending flavours you will enjoy. My two favourites were the Wind & Sail Dark Ale and the Saison of the Witch, which is a pumpkin/spice beer. Delicious! Tastings are done by donation, and there is no pressure to buy - but you'll probably want to take some home. Especially for those lovely Ontario summer afternoons. Beer is available in six-packs and 750ml bottles, depending on the brew. The six-packs are mix & match too, so you don't have to worry about choosing just one type. The beers are all natural, made from locally farmed ingredients, preservative-free, and some varieties are gluten-free as well.We got an extra treat when we visited as John, owner & creator of Prince Edward County Hot Sauce Company was there doing tastings. The flavours range from a nice mild-medium right up to fire hot - or "warm" as John calls it. I say flavours because unlike so many hot sauces, these are crafted to have the perfect balance of heat and taste. Being a fan of "warm" I bought a bottle of the Jalepeno Lime and the Mango. Delicious right out of the bottle, I have so far used them on BBQ'd burgers, grilled chicken, and as a dip. All the sauces are hand-crafted with peppers grown in Prince Edward County and are free from all the garbage - no MSG, no preservatives, no artificial anything - just flavour & spice. What could be better with a nice cold beer than a grilled burger topped with a little hot sauce? It was an all-around fun way to spend a few hours and I really recommend adding a stop there to anyone visiting Prince Edward County. Cheers!

Read about this place, and was recommended by our B&B. We stopped in for pre-dinner tastings and left with 2 six packs and 3 bottles. The red-headed guy was so helpful (sorry, we forgot your name), and let us now of places at home we could try their products.

The tour was standard and the building is plain but the ale was very good on tap. Fresh, crisp and reminiscent of those I've previously enjoyed in England. I recommend visiting it last and only if you have time. The ale is available in the LCBO and you don't risk leaving it in a hot trunk to spoil.

We visited this microbrewery a few years ago, I guess soon after it opened. They had a few beers on tap and they were pretty good. Upon our return this year with visitors from overseas, the owner (brewmaster) was awesome and gave the visitor a great tour and even shared some not for sale brew (samples) with us. I will keep going back as long as the owner (nice guy) keeps making the darker beers for the market.

We just came back from a lovely stay on Prince Edward County, and as per our other reviews, we had a very good time there and had nothing but great comments to share about the places we stayed at, ate at, and visited. Barley Days Brewery was, however, our only disappointment for this trip. We came in the brewery and were greeted by a very nice young lady who was just stopping by to pick up something and who kindly explained to us the various beers produced onside while her colleague was helping another customer. Once he was done, she left us, probably assuming that he would take it over from there. We wanted to sample 1 or 2 beers and then purchase a case of our favorite as we are microbrewery beers amateurs, but the arrogant man in question never even LOOKED at us, and simply sighted whenever he was coming near us, avoiding eye contact. We waited until he was done doing whatever he was doing and then thought he was coming our way, and finally another couple walked in and he jumped at them asking what they wanted. This happened another time when another family walked in. We left, quite angry that we could not be served, and very, very disappointed at this place. Do NOT expect to taste the beers before you purchase them, another couple asked to taste one and it was made very apparent that this was highly annoying the arrogant employee in question. If you do not want to offer tasting, that is fine, but simply do not advertise your ''tasting room''. Once again however, this was our ONLY bad experience on Prince Edward County, we highly recommend visiting the County.

Local breweries are always interesting to visit and this one is no exception. I am not a huge fan of "industrial" beers and this certainly is not. My favourite is the Wind & Sail, combining The County's barley production and fishing histories. One of these days, being a fan of porters, I'll have to make it out to the brewery in November/December to taste the Yuletide Cherry Porter.

A tasting of craft beers at Barley Days is a truly fun experience. The staff are very friendly and informative. The tastings are free and we guarantee you won't leave without buying some!

We stopped by the Barley Days Brewery during our trip to Prince Edward County. They provide beer tasting samples for 4 kinds of beer. My favorite was the Loyalist lager which is a light and refreshing beer. It was also what the previous customers recommended so I think it's one of their more popular brews. Some of their beers are available in LCBO but the Loyalist lager is not. So if you make a trip to Barley Days Brewery, you should stock up on the Loyalist! :)
